Lyrics[]

It all started on a day like any other

All the salmon had swum to the sea,

When my lover she darted away down the stream

With a heart that she'd taken from me

And my chest though it ached there was hope

A little beacon of light

Though my sunniest days were now stolen away

I still had our son by my side.

And as he looked up at me with those wondering eyes

I just knew that I must protect him with my life

And make a land that is good

And the land that is free

For the better of you and of me

We'll build these walls with our own fair hands

Through the wind and the rain and the snow

And I swear on my life that I'll stay by your side

Through whatever the world has to throw

So I summoned my men to my side

And we sung a familiar tune

As a final goodbye with our fists to the sky

To our past as we started anew

We built these walls with our own fair hands

Through the wind and the rain and the snow

And we swore that we'd keep an unwavering faith

To the land that we carved for a home.

Oh, the dawn of the day set our country aflame

As the sun rose bloody and true

Arrows burned through the skies as we swallowed our pride

And we ran with our backs to the moon

To our demise

From a friend full of lies

Oh, the break of the day shed its light

On our hearts left battered and bruised

All the hopes that we'd laid on the home that we made

Torn to pieces and left in the blue

But my friend with an angry cry

Held the weight of our world at his side

Took a trembling stand with an arrow in hand

As he muttered a final goodbye

Song[]

Throughout the first three sections of the song, there is an unchanged picture which features Wilbur holding a microphone, Tommy playing a keyboard, Tubbo a melodica, Fundy an ukulele, and Eret standing next to them. In the next three sections the picture remains the same, but two L'Manberg flags are seen hanging next to it. Throughout the seventh section, Dream's, George's, Sapnap's and Punz's heads replace the flags, symbolizing the ongoing war. In the eighth section, Eret is discarded from the picture due to his betrayal. At the end of the song, Tubbo, Fundy and Tommy disappear from it, leaving only Wilbur before he disappears as well, signalizing the fall of Wilbur's democratic L'Manberg and the rise of Jschlatt's empire Manberg.

Animatic[]

The animatic starts with Wilbur sitting on a wall and watching his wife swimming away from him into the sea with the rest of the salmons. He then looks up and sees Fundy, Tommy, Tubbo and Eret walking towards him. They then look at the sun. Following that, the group starts building L'Manberg's walls during the wind, the rain and the snow with them starting a snowball fight during the latter. Later on, the group is seen sitting by a campfire, drinking and singing L'Manberg's anthem before proclaiming it their new home. Wilbur declares the walls finished and they raise their country's flag. While everyone else is sleeping, Eret sneaks away and makes a deal with Dream to secretly help him take down L'Manberg. At dawn, Dream, Sapnap and George start shooting at L'Manberg from a nearby hill, causing it's residents to retreat into Eret's final control room where he betrays them. Shortly after, Wilbur picks up a piece of L'Manberg's flag while being watched by the injured Tubbo and Fundy. Tommy then lets out a cry and prepares for a bow fight with Dream in which he is shot and killed by him.
