Awesamdude's base is a hidden base built by Awesamdude that is located inside a mountain far away from modern society. It requires a trip through the Nether in order to reach it. The base features many redstone contraptions, as Sam enjoys playing with redstone. Violence is not allowed in his house, as Awesamdude doesn't want to cause any trouble that will endanger him, or his base.
George and Sapnap are currently living with Awesamdude in his base, and Karl has asked to join as well.
History[]
After being inactive on the Dream SMP for months, Awesamdude returned on on October 5, 2020 while also starting to stream. Awesamdude stated that his most prized possession was his dog, Fran, and that he wanted to protect her at all costs. He also wanted to remain neutral in The Manberg Rebellion, so his only option was to build a secret base far away from any of the events in Pogtopia and Manberg.
George joins Awesamdude[]
On October 7 2020, Awesamdude agreed to let George become roommates with him. Sam built a room for him for when he joins.
Revealing secrets[]
On October 11, 2020, Awesamdude revealed his base to Tommy and Sapnap to impress them. Sapnap and Tommy were indeed impressed, and Sapnap wanted to join Sam as a roommate. Tommy stated that he would want to go there as a break from any war, but he also stated that by revealing his base to them, he put the base on the map for future conflicts.
An updated entrance[]
Previously, the only way to get to Sam's base was through an ice bridge that would lead you to a nether portal that linked up with the one at his main base. He then changed it, so that in order to access the portal, you would have to "sacrifice" a netherite tool to a pool of lava, which would then open a door that revealed a nether portal inside. Once you traveled through the portal, it would either lead you to a flying machine elevator, or a water tunnel, depending on whether or not there were other people in the nether with you.
Sam built in this secret room, a water tunnel with soul sand on the ground, and dolphins in the walls for dolphin's grace. With soul speed boots and dolphin's grace, this is the fastest mode of travel available on the SMP. However, if you don't have soul speed or depth strider, you will likely die from lack of oxygen, and instead take a boat on the ocean to the base. The exit of the water tunnel leads into Sam's fake house, from where a quick jog will take you to his main base.
New roommate chaos[]
After Awesamdude showed Sapnap his room on October 14, 2020, Karl also wanted to join. When he asked to join Awesamdude said he would build a room beneath Sapnap's, but Karl and Sapnap had a small fight, breaking the no violence rule. After the small fight, Karl rode on Earl, who was outside the base, and went AFK. A creeper blew up near Earl and Karl, nearly killing Earl. As a result, Awesamdude killed Karl to get Earl inside the base. When Karl came back, Awesamdude went back to his base to let Karl in, and saw that Earl was missing. After some searching, Earl couldn't be found and was assumed dead.
Discoveries beneath the base[]
While mining underground, Sam stumbled onto a mineshaft system, where he discovered a zombie spawner, which he worked to turn into a zombie grinder, similar to the spider grinder, which exists within the Dream SMP. With help from Ponk, Sam built the grinder, which featured a water elevator to bring the zombies to a killing chamber, along with a sorting system for the items. However, due to the fact that zombie have random iron ingot drops, and iron farms are illegal on the server, they may run into trouble with Dream eventually.
Redstone contraptions[]
- Flying machine redstone door
- An implementation of a redstone flying machine for the main door. It is activated by tilling a block of grass, which automatically untills itself to hide the key. On the inside, it is activated with a button or lever. Features a lock on the inside blocking the door from being opened from the outside.
- Piston doors
- A simple piston mechanism that forces the player to crawl, allowing them to enter the room.
- Melon, sugarcane, bamboo and potion farms.
- Super Smelter
