The Before Tommy Era was the beginning of the Dream SMP. In the beginning, the server was referred to as the survival world and only composed of the Dream Team and a few close friends. Everyone lived close to each other, and the Community House was the heart of the server.

Details

• Dream creates the SMP with GeorgeNotFound joining on April 25th, 2020.
• Dream and George enter the Nether for the first time where they discover and explore a Bastion.
• Callahan and Sapnap join the server while the Community House is under construction.
• Alyssa and awesamdude make their first appearances.
• The first pets of the server are named, the most notable being a fish, Beckerson.
• The Community House and the accompanying farm on the lake are completed, and the six members fish for items near it. Sam manages to obtain a nametag.
• Dream makes a room under the Community House to live in.
• The Nether Base/Volcano housing the community Nether Portal is built near the Community House. A Community Hub in the Nether is built with an Enchanting Table in it.
• George makes a tree farm with a stone brick pathway behind the Nether Base
• Ponk joins the server. He grows a small "lemon tree" and makes a chicken coop near the Community House.
• George makes a strip mine underneath the Nether Base with a water elevator.
• Dream's horse, Spirit, is killed by mobs while being ridden by Sapnap. Sapnap creates a memorial for Spirit near the community house.
• Sapnap and Alyssa build their houses near the lake.
• The MLG Water Tower and the pet house are built near the Community House.
• BadBoyHalo joins the server.
• Dream and Sapnap chase down George in the Nether, kill him and then burn all of his enchanted diamond gear.
  • Dream's reasoning for this was that George had become too powerful compared to the other members of the server and was misusing his power. Dream also didn't want the server to progress too fast.
• Sapnap kills BadBoyHalo's new fish, Mr. Squeegie (original name from H6M), but Dream rolls the server back and gets Mr. Squeegie back after BadBoyHalo leaves the server out of unhappiness.
• Sapnap builds the Courthouse.
• Shortly after The Courthouse is constructed, Sapnap accidentally kills his horse Joffrey while George was riding it, because he was trying to kill George to get him off of the horse.
  • The first official court case on the server occurs due to this, in which Dream, BadBoyHalo, Sapnap, George, and Callahan are all involved.
  • The trial ends with George being sentenced to the death penalty for stealing Joffrey. It is noted that Sapnap and Callahan die as well because of other unfortunate circumstances.
• Dream builds the iconic long wooden path extending from all four sides of the Community House.
• The watch tower, with a small parkour course inside, is built near Ponk's small lemon tree and the Community House.
• George begins to make his base underground. The base can be accessed via a water elevator underneath the Nether Base or through a secret passageway in the lake.
• Ponk builds his first giant lemon tree.
• Sapnap builds the Hall of Fame to display the names of Twitch users that have donated to his streams.
• George burns down both of Ponk's lemon trees (small and large) as revenge for Ponk trapping his base.
• Ponk builds his second lemon tree further down the wooden path.

• During one of George's streams, Sapnap tries to nudge him off a crafting table in the Community House, unwittingly creating the infamous "crafting table" meme.
