Factions refer to the subsections of allied players within the Dream Team SMP. Currently, there are three main factions, all varying in size, power, influence, and player count.
The first faction is the largest and most established, the Greater Dream SMP. The Greater Dream SMP is a typical monarchist/imperialist nation, with a powerful figure at the head of the entire nation. A second nation rose from the chaos of the event known as the Manberg Festival, the Badlands. This nation is focused on military and stoking the flames of eternal war against nations they oppose. Another nation has been recently formed: Boomerville. Due to them not holding any territory, Boomerville is not fully recognized by any currently existing faction. These are the current major political powers of the server. Other factions lack a formal power structure, have a very small population, or have been destroyed, annexed, or replaced. Notable examples include Authoritarian L'Manberg, Communist Pogtopia and L'Manberg, and Socialist Manberg.

The Greater Dream SMP[]
Despite its name appearing to signify the entirety of the server, the Greater Dream SMP refers to most of the unaligned characters on the server. It also contains many of those who fought during the L'Manbergian War for Independance, including Dream himself. This faction claims the general spawn region as its territory, though they seek to expand into the ruins of L'Manberg. Though Eret is the King, Dream holds the true power behind the government. Dream SMP has recently restored it's powerful image after losing a revolution to drug dealers, as it has finally got rid of L'Manberg.

The Badlands[]
The Badlands were created by the coalition of BadBoyHalo, Antfrost, and Awesamdude, after all three decided that they needed to 'intervene' on the conflict happening on the server. Skeppy later joined during the Manberg vs. Pogtopia war, as he wanted to see some conflict. Their established territory consists of a ring of distant settlements and buildings that surround the other factions, and they seek to annex the ruins of L'Manberg into their territories.

- Awesamdude (The self-proclaimed 'most powerful person on the server', probably the only person here on good terms with TommyInnit)

El Rapids[]
El Rapids, formally Mexican L'Manberg, was created by Quackity, Sapnap, and George, overlooking L'Canyon. It has an antagonistic relationship with The Greater Dream SMP, as it staged a terrorist attack on Eret's castle. Its fate is uncertain after the Doomsday War, as its parent nation, L'Manberg, no longer exists. El Rapids has remained dormant, their plans unknown to the rest of the world.

Unrecognized/Minor/Secret Factions[]
Boomerville[]
Boomerville was created by Vikkstar and Lazarbeam as a way to get away from TommyInnit and other "Zoomers" on the server. It is adjacent to El Rapids, and has an established religion centered on Channel Memberships. Currently, Boomerville has no conflict with any other factions on the server, but has shown support for the Anarchists' cause.
Little Penis Land[]
Little Penis Land is a faction formed by ConnorEatsPants, located next to L'Canyon.

Dry Waters is Niki and Fundy's town formed after running away from the Greater Dream SMP, located in a very distant badlands region.
Commune of Snowchester[]
Snowchester is a safe haven community built by Tubbo after the fall of L'Manberg. There is no established power structure in Snowchester, due to Tubbo's past experience with the Anarchists.

L'Manberg[]
L'Manberg was an independent nation that declared independence on the 2nd of August 2020. It was formed by Wilbur Soot and TommyInnit in the purpose of creating their own drug empire.

People's Republic of L'Manberg[]
The successor to the first L'Manbergian Administration, L'Manberg was re-established by the Pogtopians. L'Manberg had the most members of any faction in the server and also was technically on par territory-wise with the Greater Dream SMP before Dream established temporary border disputes due to Tommy committing crimes against the king of the Greater Dream SMP. L'Manberg is on neutral/negative relations with the Greater Dream SMP, due to them fighting multiple wars against them and having annexed parts of their territory. On the 4th of December, 2020, L'Manberg changed government from a parliamentary democracy into a communist state.

People's Republic of Pogtopia[]
Pogtopia was created after TommyInnit and Wilbur Soot had their citizenship revoked by Schlatt. Along with Technoblade, they formed the faction in a ravine just outside of the L'Manberg and Greater Dream SMP borders. Over time, they began to gather supporters and allies from all sides willing to support them.

- Quackity (Member, defected from Manberg due to conflict with Schlatt)
- Fundy (Wilbur's son and the first citizen to be born in L'Manberg, (former) archbishop of Manberg, double agent to get information for Pogtopia, revealed himself to be a spy)

Socialist Dictatorship of Manberg[]
Previously L'Manberg, Manberg was declared the new name by Jschlatt on his first day as president. It previously had Fundy, Ponk, and Quackity under its allegiance, though all three left in favor of Pogtopia.

Rutabagville[]
Sapnap and Karl formed the faction known as Rutabagaville after becoming tired of not knowing who they were allied with. It became a district of Manberg after they made a pact with Manberg to help them for the war.

Logstedshire/Lads on Tour[]
Logstedshire was a faction formed by TommyInnit and Wilbur Soot (now Ghostbur) after Tubbo was convinced by Dream to exile Tommy from New L'Manberg. Dream sent Tommy to an unknown location far from New L'Manberg with Ghostbur accompanying them, and robbed them of most of their valuables. Tommy and Ghostbur decided to create a campsite to be their home called Logstedshire (though Ghostbur is still allowed to roam L'Manberg as he pleases). Logstedshire was destroyed by Dream with TNT, and the faction is assumed to be disbanded.
