Today was the first day of school. School number 13. Ranboo had been in twelve different schools in his lifetime, and it was awful. He never got to make any friends, at least not any long-term friends, since he was always forced to move.
Ranboo had needed to move to another school in the middle of second grade. He had to start all over again, make new friends, relearn subjects and try to blend in as well as possible. But this time, he had a disguise. He looked at himself in the mirror, looking at his blonde hair and pale skin that looked so different from his normal form. He looked at his hands and his feet, then at his old, blue sweatshirt and black pants. Ranboo put on his backpack, took a deep breath, and headed out the door.
When Ranboo entered the streets of the busy city, he was greeted by cars and people. So many people. (Well, so many cars too, but that's beside the point.) Nobody seemed to notice him, so Ranboo just kept walking. But Ranboo kept looking nervously at the beach, and how the waves flowed threateningly towards Ranboo. Ranboo shuddered and looked away.
The first thing Ranboo saw when he entered the school was three boys bullying another smaller boy. Ranboo walked towards them, noticing for the first time how he towered over them. He walked over to them, and their eyes instantly widened at the sight of Ranboo.
"Bullying? Not on my watch," Ranboo told them. The three bullies scurried away, leaving just Ranboo and the little kid.
"What's your name?" Ranboo asked him.
"Toby," the boy replied. "What's your name?"
Ranboo realized that he needed to come up with a name that sounded more... human-ish. But Ranboo's mind was blank.
"I... I don't know," Ranboo replied. Toby looked at him, confused.
"How do you not have a name?" Toby asked.
"My parents never told me my name," Ranboo lied. "I like to call myself Ranboo though."
"Hmm... that's a weird name," Tubbo said. Ranboo inwardly flinched. "My nickname is Tubbo."
"Nice to meet you, Tubbo."
