((Hello! -
- I ran a poll as to which headcanon of mine I should make a story out of, and the Technoblade loving cats one, won!))
-------
Techno was, noticeably, exhausted. The anthro pig brewed himself some coffee, his pink lids seeming awfully red, leaning halfway over his white eyes. He let his elbow lay on the counter, his hand slipping hooved fingers through his bristly hair. He could never manage to keep it soft for more than a day.
His other mitt drummed against the counter. Why did this suddenly take so much longer than it usually does? Hurry up and boil, stupid water!
However, that thought finished just as large bubbles pounded the surface of the water. Techno hopped up, hurrying to diminish the frustrating exhaustion he felt.
The pink-haired piglin carefully carried his bag of coffee grounds over to the boiling water, measuring them out and pouring them in. With a smile, he stirred it all with a big wooden spoon.
Techno leaned back. Just the smell of roasting coffee was alerting his senses.
His eyesight, sharpened like Quackity’s axe, caught a grey movement in the corner of his eyes, low to the ground. He looked down quickly, his white orbs meeting mismatched orange and green ones.
The tired pig and the light grey cat stared at each other for a heavy moment.
“Misty! How did you get out of your room? You scared me, and- ah, someone could’ve seen you!” Techno fretfully nagged his cat, lowering down and extending his hand.
The animal practically smiled, padding over to him and rubbing on his hoof. He simpered in return, soft and genuine, his fingers ruffling the fur on the feline’s head. Misty closed her eyes and purred, leaning into his touch.
Techno’s smile grew huge, butterflies of happiness tickling his stomach like his cat’s whiskers. He picked up his pet, carefully as possible, and cuddled her close, breathing in her smell.
He continued to love on his baby as he stirred the pot a little more, giving her a little kiss on her fuzzy forehead.
It was such a relaxing and peaceful moment, that when Techno picked up the pot and swivelled over to the cupboard to select a mug, he was startled by the sharp meow that came from behind him. Technoblade set down the pot and turned around, his eyes falling on a black cat with one green eye.
The feline strode over and stared up at him angrily, giving a final sharp mew. “Wh- how are you guys getting out? Stop that!”
The cat hissed and pawed at his leg. “What? Do you want up?” Techno started to lower down, but stopped as the cat in his arm started to squirm.
“Oh,” Techno started, his slighty deep voice scratchy and filled with concern. “I’m sorry. Are you alright?”
Technoblade stood up straight, scratching Misty and holding her close again. Only when he opened his eyes did he see the parade of angry-looking, slightly fat cats come closer to him, singing their protests.
“Oh... Oh no... I- since when did I have so many cats- oh- i-it’s not what it looks like!” Techno stammered, backing against the counter and holding the edge of it in his free hand. “I- I don’t have a favourite!”
