I don't even know, man- I just really like writing formal letters, and I felt like the Techno vs Dream duel was the perfect occasion-

Techno inviting Dream to duel:

Dear Mr. Dream

It has recently come to my attention that a good friend of mine is running a contest of sorts, centred around the concept of duelling for glory. As you know, I am somewhat of an expert in the field, and pride myself on my skill in the matter. Glory does not really matter to me, but the prospect of an opportunity to train and prove my talent without getting caught up in controversies is an attractive one.

I decided a long time ago that I was going to take part in this contest, but I have been deliberating for months about a certain issue. At the risk of sounding narcissistic, my previously mentioned skill in duelling may present an issue. I only do this for the training opportunity and the fun of the duel, and facing opponents that I could best in seconds would not provide any sort of adrenaline. If anything, it would provide the opposite effect.

So, for the past three months, I have been trying to find a contestant that could match my skill, provide me with a challenge. It has been difficult. But one night, while looking at the stars, an idea came to me. An idea involving you. I know we have had our... differences, but the fact remains that you are the only one for miles around that could possibly give me a challenge. Besides, I know for a fact that you have been looking for a way to settle our rivalry, and prove for a fact which one of us is more talented, and this contest seems to provide all of these things flawlessly.

So, with this in mind, I issue the following:

I, Technoblade, formally invite you to the Beast's Duel on the 29th of August, at Wolf Arena. I hope to see your presence, and look forward to meeting you in the ring of battle.

Dream's response:

My dearest Technoblade

It has been quite some time since you wrote to me. Spirit woke me in the dead of night with their prancing when your letter arrived, but the second I saw it was from you I rushed to open it. I'm sure you know that despite our last interaction, I have nothing but respect for you.

Your invitation intrigues me. The first time you send me a letter in over a year, and it's to challenge me to a duel. Not necessarily a bad thing, if anything it makes me admire your resolve even more, but it is amusing to me. You have your facts correct about me wanting to settle our rivalry, but I had hoped to settle it in a more peaceful way. Still, it's been a long while since I had a high spirited duel with someone that puts up a good fight, and I am itching to use my sword again.

All of these things combined lead to a sense of excitement unlike any other I have felt in quite a while. I enthusiastically accept your invitation, and am eagerly awaiting the outcome of our clash.
