As Kirai kept the guards occupied, Ava, Len, Darkness and Thanatos crept around behind and went to Anita’s cell.
Anita looked up. “My Queen?”
“Sh, quiet. We’ve come to get you out.” Avalon whispered.
“It’s too risky! We’re in the Elytrian dungeons!! If your caught-“
“If we get caught, then it will be a cold day in the Nether.” Avalon replied, her magic unlocking the lock. “Now come on.” She beckoned her out.
Anita pressed against Thanatos and he put a protective arm around her.
The group moved back along the wall. Len looked back. “Are you just going to leave him there?” He asked Avalon.
Avalon nodded. “He can hold out for a little. We need to get Anita out.”
There was a yell from one of the twenty guards in Eytrian. Five of them pounced on Kirai while the others started moving towards Avalon, Len, Darkness, Thanatos and Anita.
“RUN!” Avalon yelled.
They didn’t need to be told twice.
“Avalon.”
“I know. I’m going to circle back for Kirai. I may not like him, but I am NOT letting goodness knows what happen to the twit. I’m the one that can harm him.”
“Don’t be foolish.”
“As Madoc said. Kirai likes stories so much, why not make him the main character in them?”
All this time, they’d been thinking to each other as Avalon circled back. “For goodness sake, get Thanatos, Anita and my son to the palace.”
“I will. Promise me you’ll come out of this.”
“I will.”
Avalon shifted into a perigean falcon and shot past the guards and flew down to Kiria’s cell. She shifted back and unlocked his door.
Kirai blinked. “This story is becoming very interesting.”
“Yeah well… Put this in your story.” Avalon said as the guards caught up. She unsheathed her sword and quickly had the guards knocked out. “Let’s go.”
Kirai and Avalon hurried through the palace, their pace quickening with every second. Elytrian guards were closing in.
Avalon shifted into a unicorn and Kirai swung himself onto her back. The two galloped, heading towards the edge of the island.
“What are you doing!!” Kirai cried.
Avalon quickened and jumped as her front hooves left the end stone. She felt Kirai grip tighter as they soared through the air and landed on…… Land?
Every footfall created a temporary patch of stone that immediately dissipated before she jumped down onto the island on the Enderian side. Avalon forced Kirai off before she shifted back.
Kirai grinned. “This story will be wonderful!!”
Avalon sighed. “Idiot.”
“My Queen… Look!!”
Avalon turned. “They… Oh those…” She unsheathed her sword. “Protect Anita!!” She called. “Everyone to their positions!”
Elytrians were coming quickly with the Elytrian Queen with them.
Avalon’s eyes shone with rage as she raced through the halls to find Len, Darkness, Thanatos and Anita in her quarters. “The Elytrians are coming.”
“What?!” Thanatos cried, springing to his feet.
“Thantos, stay here and protect Anita.”
“What can we do?” Len asked.
Kirai was sitting in the shadows, watching intently.
“Stay safe.” Avalon replied.
“If your going out there, then we’re coming with you!” Darkness said.
“Dark-“
“Ava. Please. You need to stop babying him, he isn’t a child. He’ll be fine, I’ll protect him I promise.” Len said.
Ava sighed. “Alright……”
Len and Darkness were by Avalon’s side. They-
Where were they?!
Avalon turned around before a sword came down beside her.
“You, you foolish young Queen.” Elytrian Queen Atlanta hissed. “Your demise will be great and honourable, I promise you that.”
“Not a chance.” Darkness yelled, coming from nowhere.
Atlanta spun and slashed her sword towards him before, seeing Avalon and Len advancing, a blinding light occurred, affecting everyone on the Enderian side but not the Elytrian side.
“Fall back! FALL BACK!!” Avalon cried. “Palace defences up! Keep Anita safe!”
Thousands of teleportation sounds flashed in the wind.
“Well well well… You’re the Queen’s son… How brave to think you could take me on. But unfortunately… Your time’s up.”
Avalon’s eyesight returned and she saw Atlanta raise her sword.
“NO!” Darkness screamed, trying to deflect her blows.
The blows came fast, too fast for Darkness to deflect each of them.
Avalon got to feet. “Len!”
Len looked over and his widened in shock.
The two started over.
Atlanta’s sword came up.
Darkness screamed in terror.
Atlanta’s sword came down.
Darkness’ screams cut off abruptly before his lifeless form fell over the edge of the island.
“NO!” Avalon cried, throwing down her sword and running past Atlanta. She threw herself off and only pulled up just as she reached the void, just missing Darkness. “NO NO NO NO!” She cried out. Anger bubbled up into her and shot back up.
Atlanta was taking Len on who was killing Elytrians that came remotely close to them. He was about to deflect a blow but Atlanta was gone and there was a cracking.
Everyone turned to see Avalon standing over Atlanta.
“You think that killing my son completely and utterly would make me so broken that I would not even think of fighting back. How stupid of you.” She turned to look at the Elytrians. “None of you mortal fools know who and what you are dealing with. I am so utterly sick of everyone thinking that they can come and kill anyone they want. NO MORE!” She kicked Atlanta over to them before looking all of the dead in the eye before saying a single word.
“Flee.”
The Elytrains fled with Avalon after them. “And if you think of EVER stepping foot on these islands again then know this: You will be executed on sight. I am Queen Avalon, Queen of Enderians, Protector of the End Islands and Guardian to All Under My Rule. May you NEVER forget that.” Avalon turned and went back to Len who hung his head in shame. “I’ve failed you again.”
“You have never failed me and you never will.”
Flash into the future
“I trusted you! And yet I was naïve. You’ve had your chances, Len.” Tears flickered in her eyes.
“Why?! After everything we’ve been through!!”
“How can you say that?! I promised you that Darkness would be safe but-“
“None of us knew she could do that.” Avalon said, hugging Len. “They will not be back. Let’s go home…”
Len nodded and the two left.

Before either of you start hating Atlanta, you've gotta remember that Enderians and Elytrians have been at war for YEARS, for the entirety of Ava's kids lives, for the entirety of Ari's life, since Soren was 20 (In the current time he's like... 42? (The timeline is messed up, mathematically Ava's kids are more like.... 38 (Ayla and Luna), 34 (Darkness), and 14-15 (Aalif) but I made them 28, 24 and 14 coming up 15) and a little thing in Atlanta's backstory that she keeps hidden is that her father, who was on the throne before the war and the first two years of the war, was killed BY AN ENDERIAN. She kinda has a right to hate the Enderians as it was the Enderians who declared war on the Elytrians (as seen in the very first book of the series). Another thing was that she trusted one Enderian who betrayed her and tried to kill her entire family.
