It’s a Passerine fanfic :3333
Btw this is only a wip, and just so you know I’m not exactly the most alliterative so I do tend to get a bit rambly and not realize it 😭 lmk if you have any critique please
//vague spoilers but they’re still spoilers so
So basically this is Passerine but in another . idk what to call it. Storyline or cycle or something
That’s literally it
He had lived an easy life. Though, to say it was simple would only be incorrect. Being the young prince of an old kingdom did, in fact, come with a price of its own. But yes, it wasn’t exactly a shock when the youngest of the royal family was able to have some strings pulled for him in order to achieve some sort of high rank, or perhaps make his way into a boot camp he would end up quitting in a week or so.
Despite this, the kingdom still adored him. After all, who couldn’t? He was the handsome, carefree boy of the infamous Protector of Realms, able to brighten even the dreariest of days with that smile that could outshine the sun itself.
The prince’s presence on its own had often been enough to make anyone have just a little more hope, like maybe there was something to keep looking forward to.
This had previously been the case for his brother, the heir of the kingdom. The latter had grown up always surrounded by books. Most of them had to do with history, some mandated by his tutor and some he had found on his own. Others his mother was so kind to recommend him, and of course, he would never turn her down, even if all of the book’s content may have just pertained to art techniques that he would never exhibit himself. Before his younger brother came along, there would be days he would spend sitting inside, doing nothing other than wasting away.
His elder brother and him had been close, once, long ago. Perhaps it had been lifetimes, or maybe just a few months. Though all the blonde prince had left of those times were hazy memories of apple orchards and dusted-over pictures framed carefully on the tallest of shelves. In a few years, the prince was sure to surpass them.
