Chapter 5: The Red Banquet

‘Great. Just great.’

Len stares at the small paper on his desk. “A Banquet, Just the thing I need.” He sighs. “Who even is this invitation from?”

Picking up the paper once again, Len observes the writing.

It was neat and loopy, though there were some ink smears.

It read:

“You’ve been officially invited to the red banquet!

Please come to this location!”

Len purses his lips and throws his legs onto the desk.

‘I don’t want to go, but Kristin did say something interesting was going to happen.’

Tossing the choices around in his mind, Len closes his eyes.

Next thing he knew, he was in a suit and tie sitting at a long dining table, accompanied by others. Opposite him was a tan woman with strawberry-blonde hair. She wore a lush pink dress. Len tried not to pay attention.

At the head of the table was the host. Len wasn’t sure what he was but knew that he was a demon of some sort.

The host continues on a rant, talking about how he’s a changed man and other shit like that.

Though, There was something wrong.

This feeling kept creeping up him, like it was… like it was…

Lava walls fall around them. And suddenly Len knew.

It was a trap.

HAH! How foolish of him! A god, falling into a trap! He would be made a laughing stock amongst the other Gods!

Len jumps up in his chair.

Opposite him, the woman had red vines wrapped around her.

“Now is not the day to die,” Len mutters to himself, looking around.

“Who shall be our first sacrifice?” The Host laughs.

Sacrifice. Of course.

There’s a whisper in Len’s ear, then a sharp pain.

“If the time comes… I’ll have to sacrifice myself,” Len whispers, sharpening his blade.

“But the time won't come. Right?” The man says in front of him.

Len wants to say yes. That he won’t have to sacrifice himself. But he will, because he’s a god who doesn’t belong, and Tenshi was a mortal… A mortal he fell in love with, and a mortal that’ll die because of him.

“I hope not.” Len lies.

Tenshi nods and pulls his sword out of its sheath.

“Well then, let's win this war.” He grins.

Len couldn’t help but smile.

The green-haired male snaps back to reality.

Goddammit, Len. Now isn’t the time to remember him!

He curses at himself.

“I’ll be the sacrifice.” Another voice says.

This time, it’s someone he knows.

Foolish. He built a statue for DreamXD.

The host smirks.

“Finally! Now please come here!”

Foolish complies. He steps up and…

A scream and panic.

Next thing that registers, blood.

A body falling.

And crying mother.

Foolish is dead.

And Len could’ve stopped him.

But he didn’t.

He couldn’t.

It was like the war all over again.

A/N: So... I figured I would post the final chapters here. They won't feature any other Oc's so sorry everyone. I just wanted to end this series with the little remaining motivation I have since well... I've left the DreamSMP fandom. But I'll still be active- don't get me wrong, I just won't be as enthusiastic as I used to be.

Description:

KingCon, also known as King or Connor, is the twenty-sixth member of the Dream SMP. He was a founding member of the Marauders and was known as the Angel of Death, a name that he lived up to. He worked with EnderMine, BlackTornado, Dream and Punz to hunt down and kill each member of Las Nevadas.

His final life was taken by Fundy on December 29th, 2022, and his ghost form later appeared the next day.

He was later resurrected and given a Nook body to inhabit.

While corrupted by the Egg, his eyes turned red.

After being resurrected, King had a racoon tail and racoon ears.

to spread its spores

that mushroom is also red

also smells like dead things

So.

I've come back to the wiki because something quite monumental happened, and by this point you all know what it is.

Foolish, during a spontaneous Dream SMP comfort stream ("Dsmp" and "comfort stream" in the same sentence was a mistake if I've ever known one), spotted a rather sizable chunk of the Egg.

Now, if you fuckers should know my for anything, it shouldn't be my fanfics, my weird impulse art pieces, my sadistic tendencies, nor even the Tulip and Rose headcanon.

It should be by my fuckinG EGGPIRE LORE OBSESSION.

Now, it could be that Bad or the others missed a chunk in clean up.

In fact, that's probably exactly what it was, but I give absolutley no shits because if it isn't then I waS RIGHT AND YOU FUCKS SHOULD'VE NEVER DOUBTED ME-

(I say this like I was doubted only for dramatic effect, most of my theories are so asinine and stupid that you guys agree it's completely applicable to the dsmp storyline)

So, we need context, because the last time I went on an Egg rant was fucking months ago.

So, it is my firm belief that the Egg is actually a porous flower. My reasoning is explained blow, as half crazed word vomit.

This is for two reasons.

A) The vines.

Do you know of an egg that has a strange, vine like growth coming out of it?

Nope, me neither. But a plant, that's far more likely.

B) There is no reason B

I'm a fucking lunatic, bud! All the rest of this is speculation, I have no proof outside of the vines.

So the Egg is an egg with mind control powers and ouch ouch vines and immunity and it's kinda pretty sometimes I guess, right?

Wrong.

But let me explain why.

 (The part where Lance overcomplicates everything again, but uses science to do it)

The 'Egg' is actually a vascular plant that produces no seeds, but rather uses spores.

Now, I've claimed that the Egg is a flower or even a fungus to this point, but I have actually done some pretty extensive research on this since my last rant, and it's probably closer on a technical level to being a fern, if we're comparing it to real life plants.

Technically, it's a fiddlehead because of how young it seems to be, based on what little we do know about it's lifecycle, which could explain why it's petals - leaves - are so tightly coiled.

Anyway, the Egg does still looks like an ordinary flower upon blooming.

But you guys don't care what our current classification system would define this thing as, you just wanna know how the mind control aspect works in my so called 'science'!

So, the Egg's spores actually affect the chemicals in your brain that create and control emotion. I don't actually know how to explain that with sciency pingwords, I haven't gotten that for into my biology course yet, but I do know that it's probably possible?

Anyway-

There is some active control over the spores the Egg produces when affecting a person, as it has control of what chemical it manipulates and how. Often, though, it's as easy as amplifying fear or grief by causing your brain to create too much of it.

Usually the spore process is pretty accurate in manipulating the right emotion, and using it to take advantage of its prey, but sometimes it takes trial and error.

This was the case was Skeppy, and why it took so long in the Egg to infect him properly.

While being a just a plant, the Egg does have something that... could be described as a conscious train of thought?

Because of this, it isn't simply a mindless parasite like I've advertised it as so far. It knows when it's fucked your reasoning, it knows when it's touched a soft spot and amplifies it very efficiently.

Now, in my personal head cannons, Skeppy cannot feel fear, so I like to imagine it suppressed his love, causing a completely indifferent servant.

While not entirely ideal, it was the compromise the Egg created to mold his mindset into something that was easier to manipulate.

Similarly, Bad's fear and insecurity was amplified, causing him to believe that of he didn't serve the Egg, Skeppy would get killed, and he wouldn't be strong enough to stop it.

With the out of universe reveal that Velvet died before the SMP, and that's why Ant joined the Egg, his permanent grief was also tampered with, and his emotional state was used to convince him that working for the Egg would bring him back.

...Don't ask me how any of this works because I don't actually know? It just sounded cool-

Anyway, remember what I said about trial and error?

Puffy was an error. The Egg had miscalculated, assuming that her emotional connection to whatever it was manipulating her about was stronger than her emotional connection to her sense of self, AKA her very strong moral code.

She defected because her emotional sense of morality was stronger than whatever blackmail it had on her.

So, now that we've exhausted my recap of the last Egg rant, let's actually start this one.

Lance explains what you already know, but repackages it as a new idea (God help me, we're only just getting to the bit I actually wanted to write)

So the Egg is back.

....Probably.

And that's great, because first off, nothing that powerful is just defeated like that.

That loss was a planned sacrifice by the Egg.

Now, by this point I believe that Bad, Skeppy, Ant, and Hannah have all returned to normal.

Mostly, mostly normal.

This wasn't because the Egg was finished, it's because it wanted to make it appear like it had.

Personally, I think that it's almost ready to bloom, and is finally making it's next move.

I also think that the server might unite under one cause to defeat the Egg when it inevitably does soak up the blood that taints the earth of the DSMP lands, though that might be too much to hope for,

I really don't know.

What I do know is that it's all going to come crashing into each other sooner than you think.

Karl's tales, Dream's escape, the Egg, and all the other bullshit.

But on that note, I'm cold and my hands are hella tired.
