Depends what you consider a faction. It was pretty temporary, but I'd go with TeamChaos (the force that destroyed L'manberg the second time, immediately following Schlatts overthrow). It consisted of Dream, Technoblade, Wilbur, Punz, Sapnap, and the Badlands and was aided by Hbomb and George in enlarging the L'manberg crater after the battle. That combination of people is probably the single strongest ever assembled in the server's history. Dream and Techno together alone were potentially enough to overpower most of the server with their skill and resources... let alone with help from most of the rest of the servers best Pvpers. :)

So for context, after the failure of their plot to assassinate Tommyinnit through a Project Dreamcatcher nuclear weapons test, Niki and Jack Manifold discussed several options for making a second attempt to bring an end to Tommyinnit. Namely, the two brainstormed and mentioned three potential options with a negative history as regards Tommyinnit (all with their own risks and downsides) they could hypothetically approach for help. These options were, in order of mention:

Dream

Technoblade

And the Eggpire

They also went on to discuss potentially seeking the aid of multiple of these, or none at all (attempting again on their own to avoid the accompanying risks).

So what would you do if you were in their shoes? Which of these options look like appealing allies (short term or otherwise) in your plot? What would you do?

Final added note for context, here were the discussed downsides/risks for each. All are powerful and have potential to help, but these were the notes they seemed to add when discussing them as to why they need to be thought through.

Dream: Is in prison at the moment, has avoided killing Tommyinnit in the past when given the opportunity (preferring to torment him) prior to losing canon lives to him, and is a chaotic force on the server. Could be more hindrance than help depending how he feels about Tommy now (same or changed?)

Technoblade: Told Niki previously killing Tommy is not his priority (Anarchy and the cause comes first and foremost), did not kill Tommy while destroying L'manberg (they suggested this may have been due to Dreams involvement in that battle but are unsure), general skepticism given past action.

Eggpire: Wildcard unknown... not sure of the Egg's true intentions or how closely aligned the faction will need them to be (infection risk?), lots of things unclear here.

I dont know if Tommyinnit would be able to take manhunt seriously enough to be a hunter. Guy throws for content all the time and would probably kill all the "intense" moments with his personality (which is to say... seldom if ever totally serious about anything).

Punz I could definitely see being a hunter here. Sam could be too. Also Puffy. Alyssa could be interesting (let Dream blow up another creator from relative obscurity).

Off topic, but a special Techno vs Dream manhunt (like the one with Illumina) needs to happen at some point too for sure. Would blow up without doubt.

@LupusWolf0 I agree... though I think the hilarity of the idea in general is a reason it could hypothetically happen. This was mostly inspired by Niki and Jack going over the list of people who might have an interest in helping them kill Tommy, and going on in frustration about how unkillable this kid is for some reason (having "survived a nuke"... in a manner of speaking, lol). Its not that Tommy is powerful... its that's hes annoying (to them) and manages to keep slipping away from the grasp of everyone who tries to trap or kill him. He's not so much a threat as he is a recurring headache. Closest we've probably seen to this sort of team up thus far was probably Dream-Techno-Wilbur and Team Chaos destroying L'manberg after the fall of Schlatt.

Anyways yes, totally agree it would be ridiculously OP as Tommy is already overpowered by his "villains". My thinking was just that Tommy being underpowered has never seemed to stop him continuing to be a problem for his antagonists before. It may be logical for some of them to think that working together could achieve better results (Dream and Techno linking up to finally and completely end L'manberg set a bit of a precedent). Just my thought process with the thread :)

This is true, though I do think that Dream (on his own) would've been capable of escaping had he tried it. He had plenty of gear to help him (obsidian to cover his retreat, TNT to cause chaos as he runs, and everything he needed to rush out with speed). I think he could've fought his way out (either through the portal or pearling up the elevator). It seemed almost suspicious to me that he didnt so much as try. He did afterall at least feign an attempt at fighting the entire Pogtopian army nearly alone during the battle for Manburg.

GDSMP losing Dream really hurt them where their overall wealth/equipment advantage is concerned. Probably between the Badlands and the Arctic Anarchists now, though Snowchester took all of the stuff from Dream's inventory and locked it in their vault so that helps them.

Going by reputation, Technoblade and Dream had, if not the most stacked, the most notorious inventories/weapons on the server if that says anything. Between Dream's nightmare weapons (and DNP crossbow) and Techno's Orphan Obliterator, Axe of Peace, and Rocket launcher, those two individuals have kind of dominated when it comes to individual weapon notoriety... if that's any indicator of wealth. Dreams now in prison though and Snowchester has his gear... same cannot be said for Technoblade (aside from Tommy still having the Axe of Peace).

I mean if Tommy's tweet after the fall of Dream was anything to go by... yah, I could definitely see them getting cocky now. Dream falling wasn't exactly a good thing for Techno... yes Dream was his only individual combative rival (and this makes Techno the undisputed #1 pvper who is actively in play on the server right now), but they've never had a need to fight and the two being active at the same time has generally been to their mutual benefit in playing a loosely aligned game of "divide and conquer" against such governmental upstarts as L'manberg. Now with Snowchester and the Eggpire trying to rise up as new regimes, Dream is no longer there to help (or just take some of the heat off by existing) Techno in a conflict. This longstanding balance wherein the two and their respective allies destroy the upstart governments has been broken.

Interestingly enough, while Dream has his favor to cash in exchange for Techno helping him escape, it's probably in Techno's best interest to help him escape regardless. When one titan falls, the other becomes a much bigger target.

Just my take.

Yah... I feel like Dream caved too easily when everyone else showed up... like way too easily. Based on how he fought in every previous war on the server Dream always has several layers of increasingly more intricate and terrifying backup plans to sow chaos if a fight isnt going his way... and here he simply doesnt try. Last time he surrendered (and worth noting even then he fought a bunch first) was during the Manberg-Pogtopia war... and he was just surrendering to set up for the Team Chaos attack with Wilbur and Techno later on (was planned). In this instance he just... immediately gave up, without a fight, and turned over all his gear. Looking at what Dream had on his person when Tommy demanded him to hand over his stuff he very possibly could've escaped everyone if he wanted to... he had notch apples, totems, pearls, and all his borderline OP armor and weapons plus lots of TNT and obsidian to aid in his escape (cause chaos and make barriers as he flees). If Dream wanted to he could've quite likely just made a speedrun fighting retreat out through the portal and booked it towards his nearest hideaway (or perhaps that of a certain notorious Anarchist who owes him a favor). That Dream didnt even try, and had no crazy plot twist stunts to pull, seems very... unlike him, in terms of his characters history in wars.

Idk, maybe hes just more unhinged now then he was before but... something seems fishy. Cant have been that easy. Then of course weve got Ranboo's Morse Code Dream Smile spelling out "this isnt over". :)

Posting this because I'm seeing tons of theories on Twitter about how Dream may have planned this (surrendered his items too easily when he could've possibly escaped given how much stuff he had), Punz may still be spying, part of Ranboo may still be under Dream's influence and so on... and also lots of speculation about how, this not being planned, Dream might have contingency plans for this scenario (Prison escape, Techno favor, etc). That said though... he was pretty convincing in coming across defeated if he did plan it out. So what's the verdict... has the servers biggest stream struck again, will he still, or has he finally been outplayed?

Just a follow up on my last post... on Techno's stream today he saw Eggpire banners and propaganda posters in Dream SMP territory and proceeded to immediately become aggravated and say "sounds like a government!" multiple times, also calling it an "egg cult". Then commented he would "deal with this later". Given that Anarchism and Imperialism typically dont mesh well ideologically, I could totally see Techno's Syndicate fighting BBH's Eggpire in the future.

Also of note... Techno's interest in recruiting Niki (who plots to hijack a snowchester nuke in collaboration with JackManifold to betray Tubbo and assassinate Tommyinnit) could easily place his new faction at odds with a post-plot snowchester, which would presumably be hostile to anybody aligned with Niki were her plan to go through.

These just seem to look like the most likely candidates for hostility with Technoblade at the moment (which is interesting because, as seems to be the case most of the time, these are also the factions that seem most likely to be on a collision course with Dream)
