I don’t get why all this lore has to happen during my exam week, but it is what it is

I think that’s a very interesting analogy (/g), and I’m going to expand on it because why not.

This whole theme of war being like a song pops up quite a bit throughout DSMP lore. Like with Wilbur describing L’Manberg as his unfinished symphony. Just like Tommy, he lost the most significant thing in his life that he worked hard for. There was no country left, no music left to play.

Except it wasn’t just Wilbur who lost L’Manberg. So did Tommy. In fact Tommy’s lost a lot, I have no time to list everything, but he’s lost a lot of things that mean the most to him. Everytime he tried to finish the song, but everytime he couldn’t find the notes.

Tommy’s quote you mentioned really drives home the message of an unfinished symphony. Forever unfinished. Because now he’s truly lost everything that created the music. It’s even more meaningful when you realise he lost many things due to the discs.

Honestly when I first heard the news I just felt numb, and then I cried myself to sleep a few nights later, because that's when it really hit me, if that makes sense. Sometimes I think of him just a little too much and cry some more :)

(Kinda related note, it was because of Techno that I created a Fandom account. When his cancer diagnosis was announced, I wanted to join the community in drawing a crown on my hand in support of him. Unfortunately I didn't realise that you couldn't talk until your account was four days old and by the time I could post, the crown thing was already over lol)
