DreamXD is the canonical god of the Dream SMP and the ruler of the End. He was first sighted on January 18, 2021 by Technoblade and Philza. He is the only character other than Drista with legitimate access to creative mode and server commands and uses them to enforce the rules of the Dream SMP.
Physiology[]
DreamXD's in-game appearance is the exact same as Dream's casual wear - a white smiley-face blob on a bright-green background. As the smiley-face blob is canonically a mask worn by Dream, the same is likely true for DreamXD because Dream was the first human he saw.[2] It takes a lot of energy for him to appear in his human form and to talk to someone when they are awake.[3]
He can speak in many different voices, but his usual voice appears to be the one in which he speaks to Foolish with, which is deep and sometimes hard to understand.
Due to the fact that he is a god, he is canonically in creative mode. In addition, he is able to send other people to hell, as showcased when he did so with Niki.[4] He also claimed to be a part of Dream in one of George's dreams.[5]
Personality[]
DreamXD seems to be quick-thinking yet impulsive, as evidenced by his destroying Philza and Technoblade's portal. He also can be protective, as shown by him making sure George doesn't get hurt. However, he also has a malevolent side of him, where his voice deepens and he becomes extremely aggressive. He also takes offense very easily, usually smiting anyone who criticizes him.
History[]
DreamXD first joined the Dream SMP during the Dreamon events, appearing as the Dreamon who Tubbo and Fundy exorcised and subsequently separated from Dream.[6] This seems to have been a non-canonical appearance.
Retribution Arc[]

DreamXD later reappeared on January 18, 2021, destroying an end portal to prevent Philza and Technoblade from activating it. Techno and Phil were disappointed and reassured DreamXD that they were only going to use it as a table. DreamXD then returned and created an intentionally incorrect end portal so that they could not activate it.[7]
Empowerment Arc[]
George and his dream[]
On February 26, 2021, DreamXD accompanied George, Quackity, and BadBoyHalo while George tried to build a McDonalds. During this visit, DreamXD seemed to worship Master Oogway and protected George.[8]
DreamXD and George at the end of his dream
On March 31, 2021, DreamXD appeared during George's slumber. DreamXD saved George from BadBoyHalo and talked with him for a while. George asked for netherite armor, but DreamXD used a deep and distorted voice and accused George of only wanting to use him. George kept mistaking DreamXD for Dream, leading to DreamXD repeatedly correcting him. DreamXD tried to learn how to prank people with George's help, but he threatened them instead. George became exasperated by DreamXD and told him that he did not understand jokes. DreamXD pleaded for George's forgiveness for the bad things that he had done that day. George said he would only forgive him if he got full netherite equipment. In exchange for the netherite, DreamXD asked for George to be his friend. George accepted and received netherite armor and tools. Before leaving, DreamXD said that he was excited to be friends and George said that they would have many journeys ahead of them as friends.[9]
L'Sandberg[]
On May 19, 2021, DreamXD returned to join the arguments between Foolish and Bad at L'Sandberg. DreamXD smited both Foolish and Bad with lightning on numerous occasions and also provided the heads of several players to the pair of them. Bad pointed out how Foolish had built many statues of gods and no statue to DreamXD, but Foolish quickly said he already had plans for one and would build it soon.[10] Foolish later made the statue in a special room in his temple.[11]
Revival Book[]
DreamXD with Dream and Technoblade in Pandora's Vault
On June 21, 2021, Dream attempted to use the Revival Book to revive a still-living Technoblade while they were imprisoned in Pandora's Vault. DreamXD was summoned and granted one wish to the two. Technoblade asked for a bell in order to sell out, and DreamXD granted the wish before vanishing. Dream tried to summon DreamXD again afterwards but was unsuccessful.[12]
Gambling[]
On October 21, 2021, DreamXD logged on to gamble with Tubbo, Ponk, Foolish, Ranboo, and George. George repeatedly attempted to steal the gambling items and was killed multiple times by the group. DreamXD won most of the gambles, but Tubbo got a pufferfish spawn egg, and Ranboo got a chorus plant and end stone block.[13][Note 1]
Legacy Arc[]
The DreamXD statue[]

On November 21, 2021, DreamXD appeared before Foolish as Foolish was at the early stages of building a giant DreamXD statue that would almost reach build limit height. He ordered Foolish to finish the statue and "spread the word of god." He also stated that Foolish would be able to become a god if he earned it. However, Foolish would still not be on the same level as DreamXD and would only have one godly power bestowed upon him.[14]
On November 30, 2021, DreamXD talked to Foolish as a voice in his head while he was building the statue. BadBoyHalo, who was also talking to Foolish, was very confused as Foolish seemed to be having a conversation with himself. DreamXD warned Foolish that he had two weeks before the statue must be completed, but also stated that he did not know how long two weeks were. He answered a few questions that Foolish had of him, revealing his pastime of "drinking people's souls when they die" and liking "people who kill others," again expressing his rather aggressive side. DreamXD referenced his conversation with George from a few months before when George introduced him to the concept of jokes. DreamXD also stated that he talked to people most commonly when they were asleep, explaining why he interacted with George frequently.[15]
On December 3, 2021, DreamXD once again spoke to Foolish in his head. DreamXD said he was bored and demanded entertainment in the form of death. Foolish promised to keep an eye out for people to kill. While conversing with Foolish, DreamXD seemed unaware of simple things such as karaoke and pets. After Foolish explained the concepts of pets, Dream claimed Foolish as his pet, which Foolish tried to argue against. Foolish invited Antfrost over to kill him, and Ant showed up dressed as a maid Wallibear. After Foolish killed Ant, Ant attempted to annoy Foolish, much to DreamXD's amusement. DreamXD eventually decided to appear in his human form after Foolish asked for help with Ant. When DreamXD saw the statue, he expressed rage because it was made of dirt. Foolish responded that it was just the first version of the statue and that it was just an outline. DreamXD swapped the dirt for different blocks such as gold to try out different looks before restoring it. Eventually, DreamXD got bored and decided to give Antfrost some TNT, which Ant promptly used to blow up the base of the statue. DreamXD then spawned in many vexes and left Foolish to deal with them.[16]

On December 10, 2021, DreamXD visited Foolish again to check on the statue. Callahan was also visiting Foolish at the time, and DreamXD commented that Callahan used to be his pet in the past, implying that he gave Callahan powers. Callahan also seemed to be scared of DreamXD. DreamXD described the statue as magnificent and eventually said that he would give Foolish one wish. Foolish asked for Creative mode, rulership of the End, world domination, the ability to fly, access to WorldEdit, and the ability to float, but DreamXD denied all those, some more aggressively than others. While considering the power, they walked around in Foolish's summer home. DreamXD was disgusted by Foolish's first statue of him but was impressed with the pyramid. When he learned that BadBoyHalo would visit, DreamXD said he would come back later, also adding that he would kill Bad.[17] DreamXD later talked in Bad's head and started scaring him.[18]
DreamXD visited again the same day. He spotted Bad and tried to kill him before chasing him out of Foolish's summer home. DreamXD was then disrespected by Eryn, so he ordered Foolish to kill Eryn and made Foolish immortal for the fight (every time he "died," he would get the same effect as if he was holding a totem). Eryn managed to survive and leave, but DreamXD decided to let Foolish keep the immortality as his power. DreamXD did warn Foolish that it would have limited uses. He then decided to call Foolish a friend instead of a pet. After discussing the totem powers and calling Foolish a friend, DreamXD revealed that he had dropped two books into the world a millennium ago, one of them found (the Revival Book) and the other still undiscovered, but with a different godly power. After some conversation, DreamXD left.[19]
George's dream of godhood[]

While sleeping, George had a dream where he started destroying the server and killing everyone who stood against him. He went to a stronghold where DreamXD tried to stop him from activating the end portal. In response, George fought DreamXD and eventually killed him, gaining access to creative mode and becoming the server's god. He went to the End and almost killed the dragon there, but woke up from his dream before he could do so.[20] DreamXD later talked about George's dream with Sapnap, stating that he thought it was unrealistic and that it made him mad.[21]
The Book of Death[]
On January 30, 2022, Sapnap continued to search for Dream. While searching Dream's old base, he found a chest on top of a bedrock block containing a mysterious "Book of Death." The book contained the following instructions:
"Summon god by writing a name in this book. God will kill both you and them. God will tell them before they die who it is courtesy of. This book cannot be replicated. If the owner of this book completely dies, the book vanishes. If the target or the owner of this book completely dies, they do not have a ghost. They do not go to limbo. They cease to exist. Use at your own risk. Each name on a new line."[22]
Sapnap decided to test the book using the name of someone who did not exist, thinking that he could not die if the target could not. Writing "Johnathan Stewart," he summoned DreamXD who told him that he would have to die nevertheless. After learning the book did not work on pets, Sapnap tested MICHAEL's name and DreamXD said that he would have to kill Sapnap twice. DreamXD offered to kill him only once, but he had to write one actually kill-able name. Sapnap wrote Dream's name, but DreamXD said that the death book could not kill the owner of the Revival Book.[23]
DreamXD and Sapnap in Kinoko Kingdom
DreamXD offered another deal: he would reveal Dream's location at the cost of Sapnap's lives. If Sapnap killed Dream, Sapnap would permanently die with no ghost, no limbo, and no chance of revival. Dream would become a ghost. Sapnap accepted the offer, and DreamXD revealed that Dream was in the prison. Sapnap planned to make a trap for Dream near the prison. Sapnap also considered teaming with Dream to combine the power of both books and/or killing Foolish since DreamXD told him that Foolish knew about the existence of a second book. After Sapnap stored the book away and the two finished discussing it, DreamXD begged Sapnap to kill BadBoyHalo. DreamXD then teleported him to Bad and gave himself and Sapnap invisibility. Bad managed to escape, and DreamXD gave up and left.[24]
On February 5, 2022, DreamXD visited Foolish once again just to talk. Foolish mentioned the second book, and DreamXD told him that Sapnap had found it and that it was a death book that could kill Foolish. Foolish discussed with DreamXD on how he could get the book from him. DreamXD revealed that he did not visit Foolish only because he was low on energy for some time. Foolish then asked if they could take a selfie after he got the book from Sapnap, which DreamXD agreed to. After DreamXD left, Foolish tried to reorganize all his thoughts from the discussion on a billboard, but was interrupted so many times that he left the job for later.[25]
Dream XD's World[]

DreamXD and Karl at DreamXD's clock
At the end of Karl's visit to the Labyrinth of Ceaseless Agony, he was sent to DreamXD's clock in DreamXD's World. DreamXD spoke with Karl about Karl's ability to time travel and revealed that he was the one who had made Karl a time traveler. He also revealed that he made another person a time traveler and that they had forgotten that they were one. DreamXD then explained the clock, which linked to The Inbetween and The Other Side. Each dimension had an overseer he had appointed. DreamXD stated that Karl had to make a choice between the two worlds each time he visited. After explaining the clock and dimensions, DreamXD let Karl visit both worlds as an exception during his first visit.[26]
Foolish's debt[]
On June 6, 2022, DreamXD contacted Foolish to give him a warning. DreamXD admitted that he had no strength for a long conversation and had been busy dealing with something. He said that Foolish ran out of his free deaths and now owed DreamXD deaths. If he did not give him these, then DreamXD would have to take Foolish's life.[27]
Friend[]

On August 10, 2022, Wilbur decided to send Friend to Ghostbur in the Afterlife. Since Friend had infinite canon lives, he wanted to ask DreamXD to give Friend only one life. Because he did not like DreamXD, Wilbur planned to threaten DreamXD together with Niki and Connor. Wilbur asked Connor to use an x-ray texture pack to force DreamXD to show up.[28]
After Connor activated the texture pack, DreamXD appeared and wondered whether Connor had a death wish. Wilbur said they would turn off the x-ray texture pack if DreamXD made Friend have only one life, promising to never break any rule again. DreamXD answered that he would just kill Connor and Friend. He proceeded to kill Connor but did give Friend only one canon life. DreamXD left afterwards but appeared briefly again after Wilbur had sheared and killed Friend, telling Wilbur that he had sent Friend to the Afterlife without any wool.[29]
The server reset[]

Shortly before the Egg conflict and Project Early Dawn, Eret found out from ancient texts that a terrible power lived in the End. They went to Foolish to discuss this with him, and Foolish mentioned that DreamXD was the real threat of the server. Since Foolish sensed that catastropohic death of the server was imminent, Foolish and Eret decided that they should try and get Foolish to take DreamXD's power so they could revive everyone.
DreamXD's clock
After gathering a group of other server members, they all went to a stronghold that Eret had excavated and jumped into its End portal. They arrived at DreamXD's clock, where DreamXD mocked them for challenging him. He said that he could not play with them at that point and teleported them away to another location. The group fought many challenging enemies there and eventually got teleported back to DreamXD's clock when all enemies were dead.
Foolish taunted DreamXD and told him to come down and fight. DreamXD pointed out that it was him who had given Foolish his immortality power, and promptly stripped him of it. Just when the group gave up all hope of ever defeating DreamXD, DreamXD focused his attention on the sky. He explained that the group had distracted him too much and that it was too late for the server. He flew up into the sky and said that he could not wait what all of them would do in the next life. DreamXD then reset the server, causing a bright light to appear and making all server members lose their memories.[30]

- He did not know what the color green is.[49] It is unknown whether this means he is colorblind or if he does not understand the label of the color.
- He does not enjoy being called a person and must distinctively only be referred to as a god.[68]
