—Dream's warning to L'Manberg before the final battle of the Dream Team SMP vs. L'Manberg War [1] |
Dream SMP, also known as the Greater Dream SMP, is the oldest faction on the server. Eret is the current King of Dream SMP. However, they are more of a figurehead than an actual leader, as Dream was considered by many to be the true leader of the Dream SMP, giving orders to the king on what they should do, very often superseding the king and giving orders directly, and appointing said kings in the first place. This changed shortly before he was imprisoned, making Punz the acting leader.
Everything on the server was considered part of this faction, though Greater Dream SMP over areas of the server far from spawn are all but ceremonial.
History
The Dream SMP as a faction did not truly exist before the Dream SMP vs. L'Manberg War. To read more about the history of the server prior splitting into factions, visit Timeline of the Dream SMP/Unity Era and Timeline of the Dream SMP/Growth Era.
L'Manberg secession
- Main article: Dream Team SMP vs. L'Manberg War
After L'Manberg seceded, Dream recruited neutrals of the server and close friends into a loose federation with Dream as the leader. Dream, along with George, Sapnap, and Punz, declared war on L'Manberg and began their attack by bombing both the L'Manberg Embassy and L'Manberg itself. This, along with Eret betraying L'Manberg, causing them to lose a significant amount of resources, made it clear that the Dream SMP had won. However, after Tommy promised Dream the discs in exchange for independence, Dream decided to take the deal and grant them independence. The war resulted in the creation of two factions, L’Manberg and Dream SMP. After the war, Dream revealed that Eret had betrayed L'Manberg to be crowned King of the Dream SMP. However, this would turn out to be a figurehead title, with Dream holding true power in the country.
Peacetime
There was relative peace in both the Dream SMP and L'Manberg after the war, with occasional fighting or small conflicts such as the Railway Skirmish and the Pet War. Most people who joined during this time became part of L'Manberg rather than the Dream SMP, but builds were still being constructed in the Dream SMP, the most notable place being the Holy Land.
L'Manberg Election
- Main article: SWAG2020 vs POG2020 Election
Wilbur and Tommy decided to hold a one-party election in L'Manberg to legitimize their power. Surprisingly, Quackity, a citizen of the Dream SMP, decided that this was unfair and decided to run in the L'Manberg elections under the party name SWAG2020 with George as his running mate, meaning that Quackity and George would become citizens of L'Manberg if they won. This began the SWAG2020 vs POG2020 Election and many people in the Dream SMP took sides as to who should win. Schlatt eventually joined the server and managed to win the election.
Manberg Rebellion Arc
- Main article: Manberg Rebellion Arc
Throughout the period of the Manberg Rebellion, the Dream SMP acted as an area of neutrality with some conflicts occasionally breaking out. Many more builds were created in the Dream SMP during this period. On his inauguration day, Schlatt expressed the desire to conquer more land for Manberg. Eret, afraid of Schlatt's ambition, told him that he would spark another war if he continued down that path. Dream SMP eventually started leaning towards Pogtopia, supplying their members with resources.
Despite the massive loss of citizens and territory, the Dream SMP still remained powerful due to most of its citizens having acquired full netherite armor unlike most of the other factions, who had diminished power due to war efforts. Even so, the unification that had once been held in this faction was almost completely gone, with most citizens choosing to stay out of conflicts or just starting their own conflicts instead of working together. The amount of territory the Dream SMP had was moderately diminished by the creation of the Badlands. Sapnap was notorious for having caused conflicts during this time, notably sparking the Second Pet War.
Most of the citizens of the faction stayed neutral however most of the original citizens of the faction supported Schlatt, while the large majority of the server fought for Pogtopia's side in the Manberg vs Pogtopia War. Pogtopia was victorious, despite Wilbur and Technoblade blowing most of the reclaimed L’Manberg up. It was revealed that Dream and Wilbur had conspired to blow up L’Manberg regardless of who won the war. Dream did this to ensure that L'Manberg would be reclaimed by the Dream SMP (as he revealed to Eret) but this did not work, as L'Manberg drew up reconstruction plans immediately after the war.
Transition of power
- Main article: Badlands-Dream SMP Conflict
Following Eret's siding with Pogtopia before the Manberg vs Pogtopia War, Eret was ousted just before the war, and George was officially crowned king due to the line of succession. Eret and HBomb were still allowed to live in the castle. Eret still owned every part of it except the throne room. George’s first act as king was to give the Badlands the same technical independence they gave L'Manberg in exchange for an alliance.
Exile Arc
Main article: Exile Conflict
The Dream Smp became reunited again after the war due to George becoming king and the edition of new server members. However after Tommy had burned down The kings vacation home, The Dream Smp’s leaders, primarily Dream, went head to head with tubbo’s cabinate to get justice for the act of war. The faction ended up getting their way when Tubbo exiled Tommy from L’manberg to avoid war with The Greater Dream Smp.
Civil War
- Main article: Dethronement Fallout
During the Exile conflict Dream noticed that George didn't perform his duties as king very well and was constantly being attacked by different parties. Stating that he cared too much about George, Dream decided to transfer kingship back to Eret. Dream also noted that George was inattentive to his duties, and Eret had much better relations with the other nations of the server. Shortly after this, Dream and Punz would ambush Quackity George and Sapnap at Mexican L’Manberg after hearing word of there attempts to get the Badlands support in a war against the Dream SMP to get George’s kingship back.
Mexican L’Manberg Political Protest
- Main article: Mexican L'Manberg-Dream SMP War
On December 6, 2020, Mexican L'Manberg attempted to frame Eret for killing Karl Jacobs to give them an excuse to raid Erets Castle and stealing the thrown in the process. The Knights of Eret, allied with Dream, would quickly retaliate and destroy most of Mexican L’Manberg. Both sides would eventually meet in the Holy Land and agree to a peace, with Dream and Eret eventually agreeing to recognize Mexican L'Manberg as a country, provided they met his conditions.
The Prison
After Tommy was exiled, Dream would make a deal with the Badlands to create a Prison within Badlands territory, that Dream, and presumably Punz, would have access too. Dream would pay Sam to construct the prison, while also enlisting the help of various other allies to help with its construction. During the initial construction, Dream would explain that apparently the person he had in mind to be locked up in the prison was highly capable, and that it needed to be fortified. certain members of the server who might just need to be locked up.
Secret Agent
After intervening in Technoblade's execution and gaining a new powerful ally, Dream and Punz would meet to discuss future plans for the server. During there discussion, Dream would explain to Punz that he had been getting a bit worried about how things had been going on the SMP, and that it felt like everyone was turning against him. Dream would go on to show Punz the Pandora's Vault, explaining to him that they will be able to put any of there enemies inside once it’s finished. The two would also discuss the Greater Dream SMP, and how despite their limited numbers they are still the most powerful faction on the server. Dream would inform Punz that he’s planning to do something that will likely lead to a lot of people hating him, and that they would need to do something to make it look like the two of them have fallen out for Punz’s protection. They both agree to put a plan for a staged falling out between the two into action, with Dream paying Punz for his continued loyalty before departing.
Declaration of War
On January 5, 2021, Dream would take advantage of the events of the Festival to reveal the destruction of the Community house, blaming Tommy in the process, and putting events into motion that would end with Tommy betraying Technoblade and letting Tubbo give Dream his disc. Now having no reason to continue maintaining good relations with Tubbo, Dream went on declare war on L’Manberg and ally himself with Technobalde in the shared objective of destroying the nation.
Domination
- Main article: Doomsday War
The next day, Dream arrived at Technoblade's cabin to finish preparing. Dream, Technoblade, and Philza headed out to L'Manberg with explosives, weapons, and other supplies. This conflict ended up causing a brief civil conflict, as aside from Dream, and secretly Punz and Hbomb, most of the other Dream SMP citizens who partipated in the war fought to protect L'Manberg. Regardless, the battle began with Technoblade distracting the L'Manbergian defense group with his hound army, until most of the dogs were killed and Technoblade signaled Phil to start summoning Withers. The over a dozen Withers managed to cause a massive amount of damage to the country, however it was soon made clear that the Withers were only a diversion to provide time for Dream to set up rapid-fire TNT cannons above L'Manberg. The TNT raining from the grid above would prove to be the final blow to the nation, as the already damaged L'Manberg was completely destroyed by the TNT cannons.
The Aftermath
- Main article: Disc Confrontation
After all was said and done, Dreams goals were realized, as the barren remains of L'Manberg were finally reclaimed by the Greater Dream SMP. Despite the newfound power the Greater Dream SMP due to this victory, Dream would still leave the mainland as planned to avoid the potentially fatal consequences for his actions. Punz would be left as the secret acting leader of the Greater Dream SMP, as was agreed between the two prior to the Doomsday war. However, Punz would end up leading nearly all citizens of the Greater Dream SMP along with the rest of the server in an intervention to put a stop to Dream during a final battle for the discs between Dream, Tommy, and Tubbo. The intervention conflict would bring an end to the The Disc Saga and finally bring peace to the SMP.
Stagnation
After Dream was imprisoned, the Dream SMP seems to have lost all unity. Ironically enough, only Eret, a former member of L'Manberg and the current king, is truly loyal to the Dream SMP, with Punz, Ponk, and Hannah all being aligned with the Egg, while the remaining citizens have no loyalty to the kingdom. This leaves the Dream SMP in a position of technically ruling over the entire server but having no power to enforce any of its claims if necessary. Despite these low times, Eret has "overrode" permissions, believing themself to be the new head of state in the nation. they decided to take matters into their own hands, establishing a harsh tax system where some citizens of the Greater Dream SMP would have to pay an expensive tax. They then began to draw up plans for a new army of withers to "enforce" the law. Later, they seemingly abandoned all of his plans. Overall, despite its long history and its position of strength, the Dream SMP is currently, by far, the weakest faction on the server, with no true leader, a week military, and very few citizens.
Under A Foreign Dominion
Though the Greater Dream SMP has remained peaceful since Dream's imprisonment, the Egg is slowly spreading its vines through its territory. This may lead to The Dream SMP being subsumed by the Eggpire, due to the vines' growth accelerating and with Punz formerly being a de jure double agent. In addition to that fact, half of the remaining citizens of the Dream SMP are apart of the Eggpire, with Eret at the last loyal member of the faction.
Current State
After the fall of the Eggpire, the server entered a period of seeming peace. New server members have lead to growth in citizens, and new relationships being formed. However, due to Dreams escape, His intentions with the Greater Dream Smp are unknown. Unbeknownst to the rest of the server, Dream is still ruling the Dream Smp through a now uncorrupted Punz, however not much has come from this fact. Eret continues to govern over the Greater Dream Smp as its's king, and has began to take action against Dream, with the creation of the Knights of Hope. Currently, the new peace that came from the Eggpire's defeat could very well be threatened by the possibly upcoming conflict between The Knights of Hope and Dream.
Armory
- Enchanted netherite armor and weapons - All members of the Dream SMP's military are equipped with enchanted Netherite weapons and armor.
- TNT - TNT remains as a stashed weapon by the king.
- Tridents - Tridents are only to be used by officials and military personnel.
- TNT siege engine - Only ever used once in the Dream Team SMP vs. L'Manberg War, the siege engine was used to break down L'Manberg's defenses. It was mobile enough to transfer across long distances.
- Withers - The King maintains a stash of wither sculls and soul sand to create an army of wither at will, for whatever purposes they see fit.
Political System
The Greater Dream SMP’s government was formed from the Dream SMP-aligned forces that fought in the Dream Team SMP vs. L'Manberg War. While Dream maintained his position as leader, Eret was given the kingship, and George Sapnap and Punz became Knights and were placed into the line of succession for the kingship. It was also implied that the Line of succession also applied to leadership of the Dream SMP, however considering the entire system was changed after George and Sapnap left, Punz becoming Dream’s second in command could have just been by default, seeing as he was the only other high ranking member left.
The former system of Knights and Squires
- Main article: Knights of the Dream SMP
The role of the Knights in the Greater Dream SMP seemed to depend on the king. Under George, and Eret prior to their dethronement, the Knights consisted of the most powerful members of the Dream SMP, who were bound to protect the King and more importantly the SMP itself. Knighthood also included placement in the line of succession for the Kingship, and presumably leadership of the Greater Dream SMP. As for Squires, the only squire to have ever been elected was Callahan, under George’s rule, however Eret would never end up electing a squire of their own. George, Sapnap, and Punz were the Knights under the old system, which was slightly altered when George became king, with the addition of Callahan as his squire. Upon Eret's return to the kingship, Sapnap fully quit the Knights, leading to the system's disbandment. Dream would later maintain a de-facto system of himself continuing to serve as the leader with Punz's as his right hand man.
Changes under King Eret
- Main article: Knights of Eret
Alongside the end of the Knights of the Dream SMP, Eret would make his own system of Knights, whose loyalty lied primarily with Eret, as opposed to the interests of Dream and the faction as a whole. The Knights of Eret initially consisted of Puffy, Hbomb, and Punz, however after there first engagement against Mexican L'Manberg, Punz left his position. The Knights of Eret would fully disband shortly after the Doomsday war.
Geography
Territory
- Main article: Locations on the SMP/Dream SMP
The Greater Dream SMP claims power over the entire server, as the only two nations that it has recognized (L'Manberg and El Rapids) have both been dissolved. The reason for this power mainly has to do with the factions purpose. All unaffiliated players are considered a part of this faction by default, which is why the faction has so much territory. However, it only controls a small portion of it around the world spawn. The territory was only retained due to Dream waging numerous wars against factions outside of his, like Pogtopia and L'Manberg. However, the expansion of the Greater Dream SMP stalled with his imprisonment in Pandora's Vault. Since then, two other countries (Snowchester and Kinoko Kingdom) have seceded from the Dream SMP, taking a significant portion of their land and resources. The expansion of the Egg's vines also gives the Eggpire opportunity to claim a large chunk of its land.
Recognition of countries
The Dream SMP reserves the right to recognize any faction on the server as an official nation with separate territory unclaimed by the Dream SMP (i.e., grant a nation independence). This right is exercised by the leader, as well as the king in rare circumstances. While recognition by the Dream SMP is not necessary to make a thriving nation (eg: Snowchester and Kinoko Kingdom), it provides a sense of legitimacy to the nation. It may also lead to an alliance and trade deals with the Dream SMP as in the case of L'Manberg.
There are two types of recognition granted by the Dream SMP:
• Technical/partial independence: The Dream SMP still claims all territory of the said nation as their own, but to avoid conflict, will call the territory by the name of that nation. The Dream SMP will also cease any current military activity against the nation and will not attack the nation unless there is a very good reason to do so. This is essentially a ceasefire agreement deal. The Dream SMP will usually unofficially cede most control of said territory to the nation despite still claiming it as their own. Factions: Manberg, Badlands
• Full independence: The Dream SMP will recognize the nation as being fully independent and having successfully seceded. The Dream SMP will rescind all claims to the territory of the said nation and recognize the territory as fully part of that nation. The nation, thereby, assumes complete control over its claimed territory. The Dream SMP may also, if they wish to, back the nation in any related matters of sovereignty. Factions: L'Manberg, El Rapids
The Dream SMP has only ever recognized four factions in one of these manners. These factions are:
• L'Manberg: L'Manberg was the first faction to ever break away from the Dream SMP. On August 2, 2020, at the end of the Dream Team SMP vs. L'Manberg War, Tommy struck a trade deal with Dream. He traded his two most prized discs, Cat and Mellohi, for L'Manberg being granted technical independence.[2] Nevertheless, L'Manberg was treated by most players, as a fully separate country. Dream even excepted Jack manifold as an ambassador to the Greater Dream Smp. On December 3, 2020, after Tommy was exiled from L'Manberg, Dream decided to fully recognize L'Manberg as an independent nation.[3] L'Manberg was destroyed and dissolved on January 6, 2020.
• Manberg: Manberg was already a partially recognized nation when it was created on September 22, 2020, due to being the continuation of L'Manberg.[4] It was even backed up by the Dream SMP’s military forces during the Manberg vs Pogtopia War. It was, however, invaded and dissolved during the war on November 16, 2020.
• Badlands: In return for the Badlands recognizing George's kingship, Dream granted them technical independence on November 16, 2020, shortly after the Manberg vs Pogtopia War.[5]
• El Rapids: Mexican L'Manberg was fully recognized as an independent nation by Eret on December 6, 2020, during the Mexican L'Manberg Conflict, on the condition that it would apologize, fix the damage to its own nation and the castle, restore Eret's throne, return Puffy's items and rename the nation to El Rapids.[6] El Rapids was later dissolved on February 9, 2021.
Of these four nations, only the Badlands still stands (though it is inactive as of now), meaning that the Dream SMP still claims the entire server as its territory.
Diplomatic relations

L'Manberg (past) | Very negative
|
Embassy: BSA L'Manberg Embassy
Ambassadors:
L'Manberg was the first country to declare independence from the Dream SMP and start the precedent of nations, meaning they were viewed very unfavorably by the Dream SMP who eventually declared war on them, ending with L'Manberg being granted independence through a trade deal. After the war, new server members mostly joined L'Manberg rather than the Dream SMP. Relations were neutral between the two countries until its reformation into Manberg. Initially, Dream SMP took a stance against Manberg, afraid of Schlatt's ambition and power, secretly helping Pogtopia. However, after Dream got the revival book from Schlatt, the Dream SMP fought primarily on Manberg's side as well as assisted its war efforts. Dream still made a deal with Wilbur to blow it up, anyway, showing he did not care much for it. After L'Manberg's reformation, it rivaled the Dream SMP in terms of people, power, and resources. Dream SMP viewed L'Manberg negatively due to having supported Manberg's war efforts. Tensions rose between the factions after the griefing of George's house. While Dream SMP appeared to have developed positive relations with L'Manberg after Tommy's exile, Dream was secretly working to obtain Tommy's disc and destroy L'Manberg. After Dream announced his declaration of war to destroy L'Manberg, several citizens of the Greater Dream SMP defected against Dream and fought under the L'Manbergian banner. However, this proved to be useless as Dream, Technoblade, and Phil still overwhelmed the L'Manbergian defense force. While many of the Dream SMP's citizens were on the side of L'Manberg, Dream was the only one fighting directly for what he viewed as the interests of the faction. Eret, Puffy, and Ponk were all fighting for personal reasons unrelated to factions as a whole, and Punz was obviously spying and doing what he was doing which would leave him in the same boat as Dream. Over all the war would end with the destruction of L'Manberg, ending relations on a bleak note. |
Manberg (past) | Neutral
|
Embassy: Manberg Embassy (unused)

Initially, Dream SMP took a stance against Manberg, afraid of Schlatt's ambition and power, secretly helping Pogtopia. However, after Dream got the revival book from Schlatt, the Dream SMP fought primarily on Manberg's side as well as assisted its war efforts. Dream still made a deal with Wilbur to blow it up, anyway, showing he did not care much for it. |
Pogtopia (past) | Negative
|
Dream Smp, represented by Dream and Eret, initially supported Pogtopia. They would both end up providing Pogtopia with various items and manpower, with Dream hoping that the conflict will end with both Pogtopia and Manberg being dissolved, and L'Manberg being reestablished. However, after Dream made a deal with Jschlatt that resulted in him switching sides, he got the majority of Dream Smp's leadership to help defend Manberg during the Manberg vs Pogtopia War, derailing their relationship. |
Badlands | Neutral
|
The Badlands and the Greater Dream SMP fought on the same side when fighting against L'Manberg in the last phase of the Manberg vs Pogtopia War. The two factions made a mutual defense pact and Dream SMP has given the Badlands the same technical independence it gave L'Manberg after the Dream Team SMP vs. L'Manberg War. However, it is an extremely fragile alliance, as the Greater Dream SMP knows that the Badlands is a warmongering and militarily focused nation. Despite this, the joint construction of the prison, and the very beneficial deal surrounding it, did turn this relationship into a positive one. Modern-day relations between the two factions are currently on neutral terms, as control of Pandora's Vault has been taken from the Badlands by Dream, and relations with the current Greater Dream SMP government are mostly nonexistent. |
El Rapids (past) | Neutral/negative
|
Upon the formation of Mexican L’Manberg, it immediately found itself de-facto aligned with the Greater Dream SMP due to most of its memebers being Knights of the Dream SMP. Under George’s initial guidance, Mexican L’Manberg’s purpose was to serve as an opposition to L’Maneberg due to the events of the Exile conflict. However, relations between the two factions deteriorated after George’s dethronement, and possible war over the dethronment seemed imminent. Conflict did eventually break out after Mexican L’Manberg attempted to frame Eret, as well as their subsequent attack on the castle and stealing of the throne. War would immediately break out after this series of events, up until the two sides began peace talks in the Holy Land. Eventually, Dream SMP agreed to recognize El Rapids as a nation for an apology and for fixing all of the damage caused. They were likely still not on the best terms, due to Eret still being king, but El Rapids has since disbanded. |
Anarchist Refuge | Neutral/positive
|
Whilst the high ranking members of the Anarchist Refuge have had good relations with Dream in the past, the faction's shares no goals with the SMP. It's also worth noting that Technoblade mentions a "kingdom" when talking about his reasons to form the Syndicate, most likely referring to Dream SMP. However, After the Technoblade, Tubbo, and King Eret of the Dream SMP rescued Michael and threw Sam in the Prison, they all formed as new group known as The Revengers. Considering Eret is the only remaining representative of the Greater Dream SMP, we can assume the two factions are now on decent if not good terms by default. |
Trivia
- The purpose of the Greater Dream SMP was to be a neutral faction that all unaffiliated members of the server were automatically attached to.
- Certain unaffiliated members of the server like people who don't have a home, reside in another dimension, or are Ghosts, would automatically be classified as neutral/factionless instead of being automatically attached to the Greater Dream SMP.
- If a citizen of the Greater Dream SMP leaves for another faction, and then leaves that faction to return to there home in the Greater Dream SMP, they will be considered a citizen of the Dream SMP once again.
- Certain unaffiliated members of the server like people who don't have a home, reside in another dimension, or are Ghosts, would automatically be classified as neutral/factionless instead of being automatically attached to the Greater Dream SMP.
- Because of Dream’s reputation around the server as of now, he is currently in hiding and only using Punz to act on his behalf as acting leader and as a right-hand man for his plans.
- Despite the Dream SMP being split down the middle during the Doomsday War, at least in terms of who supported L'Manberg’s destruction and who didn't, Dream was the only one fighting on behalf of the Dream SMP, due to the fact that he wanted L'Manberg gone to achieve his previous goal of bringing the former unity under the Greater Dream SMP back to the server.
- While Dream was no longer the leader of the Greater Dream SMP even following his escape, he continued to rule through Punz and maintained de-facto citizenship in the faction due to Pandora's Vault no longer being under the control of the Badlands.
