The Lost City of Mizu books

There was a large amount of books, signed and unsigned, found during the The Lost City of Mizu episode of Tales from the SMP, streamed on January 24, 2021. Most of the books contain inaccurate information about the current members of the Dream SMP. The exact authors of the books are unknown, but they are presumed to be residents of the Lost City, some of which are descended from Ranboo. One possible reason for the inaccuracy of the information is the fact that Ranboo's descendants, including Dream's character Ranbob, inherited Ranboo's bad memory. Another is the destruction of Ghostbur's library during the Doomsday War, as it contained a lot of important books that may have helped future inhabitants of the Dream SMP to create more accurate history books.

According to the behind-the-scenes tour of the city, there were more books in the city that weren't discovered by the cast during their visit to the city. They will probably never be read on stream, and are therefore missing from this page.

It also states that Tommy was Tubbo's most loyal follower - not strictly incorrect, but the more commonly accepted phrasing is that Tubbo was Tommy's sidekick rather than the other way around.

Is the inbetween really all that is chalked up to be? Or is it something I shouldnt trust? Next time I get back there I need to get into that portal. Even if the inbetween is protecting me from... something... I need to know what lies on the other side. As my mind gets filled with keeping up with everything that is happening throughout these stories, I feel my mind deteriorating more and more. My brain feels like it is rotting. I desperately need to solve all of this. I just want to tell my stories, and have my friends to tell them to. But I worry I wont have these friends of mine at this rate. ... If i start to forget who they are ... If i start to forget who I am...

The Inbetween books

The books found in The Inbetween are written by an unknown author. They are found in item frames strewn around the castle, and there are different ones every time Karl visits it. Many of them repeat the phrases "This is the Inbetween, a place/world you've been to a few times now." and "Fear not, for this is a place not to provoke harm, but to feel at ease." The repetition of these phrases may be due to the fact that Karl experiences memory loss as a result of his time travelling, and the person/entity writing the books needs to remind him about these facts again and again. As of The Wild West on February 14, the phrase "Don't stray from the path" is also a common theme in these books, as well as the emoji :] as of The Haunted Mansion on March 4.
