The Hound Army is a pack of wolves owned by Technoblade. The Hound Army was originally housed under L'Manberg and summoned during the Doomsday War. After the war, survivors were relocated into a house next to Technoblade's cabin, which later Philza rebuilt into his house, and built a massive dog house for them to officially stay in. Some unnamed members would be summoned to fight with Techno during the Red Banquet.

History

First dogs

The Hound Army was founded on December 18, 2020 by Technoblade and Tommy. The two started the pack by locating stray wolves around Technoblade's cabin and near Logstedshire, and after some searching, the two only managed to get one tamed wolf that they named Max. Since they failed to find a partner, they decided to go to L'Manberg to secretly breed Max with another member's dog. After wandering around L'Manberg, they managed to find Connor's pet dog, Toby Cumbeast, and bred the two, giving birth to a third dog under the ownership of Technoblade.

Secret base

Following their success of obtaining two dogs that were able to breed, Techno and Tommy sought a place to build a secret base to stash the Hound Army away in L'Manberg. They eventually decided to build out their base underneath the L'Manberg apiary. There, they used their stash of rotten flesh to breed the wolves and expand the army without other members noticing. Over the span of a few streams, Technoblade was able to amass roughly twenty wolves, allowing him to begin the process of terrorizing the server with them.

Later, Techno named some of the dogs (Em, Marcellery) and dispersed the army underground throughout L'Manberg with so called "dog outposts". The outposts could be accessed using the sewer system, allowing Techno to access the dogs while being less discoverable.

Quackity

On the first attack, Technoblade was able to send his wolves upon an unarmed and AFK Quackity. Quackity ran away from the Army and towered up upon noticing the army attacking. However, Technoblade was able to hit Quackity off the tower, causing him to die of fall damage.

Techno later attempted to send the pack of wolves after Quackity again, but failed because he was able to flee and combat log before the wolves were able to reach him.

Ranboo

Four deaths of the Hound Army during the confrontation with Ranboo

After attempting to kill Quackity, Technoblade sent the army on Ranboo to frame him. However, this was unsuccessful. The wolves were unable to kill Ranboo, who was in full netherite armor with thorns. Four wolves were killed by Ranboo's sword, as they were attempting to attack Ranboo. When Technoblade confronted Ranboo regarding animal abuse, Ranboo denied attacking any of the wolves, stating that he could not see any of the death messages on his screen. However, on Technoblade's screen, four death messages stating that his wolves have been killed by Ranboo's "A little off-camera grinding" sword while trying to hurt Ranboo.

First relocation

Following the announcement of the Doomsday War and Tommy's betrayal, Philza and Technoblade decided to move the dogs since Tommy could compromise the dog army's location. While relocating them further down the tunnels, Fundy, seeing a name under the ground, decided to investigate and found Techno. Techno managed to chase Fundy down and non-canonically kill him, protecting the secret of the dogs.

Doomsday War

In the Doomsday War, the Hound Army was used as a distraction. In the minutes leading up to the war, Techno, Philza, and Dream went into the tunnels to retrieve 180 of them. They used potions of invisibility, strength, and speed to strengthen the army, and Technoblade brought them to the surface where they quickly overwhelmed the L'Manbergians. However, Sapnap, who fought in defense of L'Manberg, was able to kill off many members of the pack. In the end, they successfully killed Tubbo in the battle and gave Philza and Dream time to set up the assault.

Second relocation

After the war, the survivors were transported back to Technoblade's cabin safely by Techno and Phil using the help of an ender pearl stasis chamber. Techno temporarily housed them in Tommy and Ghostbur's house next to his Cabin, until Philza destroyed most of the house to expand onto Techno's cabin. They remained in the remains of the house in Phil's basement, until the third relocation.

Woodland mansion raid

After the war, Ranboo built a shack near Techno's cabin to live in. As a gesture of kindness and solidarity, he invited Techno on a raid of a woodland mansion, where he hoped to get Totems of Undying and enchanted golden apples. In preparation for the journey, Techno selected 23 of the surviving dogs from the war and named a large number of them based on sponsorships from viewers. These dogs were sometimes referred to as the "Millionaire Dogs" or "Millionaire Hounds" in Technoblade's chat. The dogs were fairly effective in clearing out the mansion, but many of them died or were lost in the process. On the way back, Techno recruited some wild dogs to recoup their losses.

Third relocation

After Phil completed his house, he created a dog house for the Hound Army to stay in. According to Phil, it took him multiple hours to move all of the dogs from his sealed-up basement to the new kennel.

Red Banquet

Technoblade attacked the Eggpire at the Red Banquet with Purpled and Quackity, and brought the hound army with him. Only 2 dogs survived the event, with one of them dying shortly after. However, all the dogs he brought were unnamed, so no named dog died during the attack.

Imprisonment

During Technoblade's Imprisonment in Pandora's Vault, a tamed wolf was found in the Maximum Security Cell. While there is no confirmed reason behind the sudden appearance of the hound, is can be assumed that the hound somehow teleported to their owner, Technoblade. During Quackity's visit, Awesamdude instructed Quackity to kill the wolf. Instead, he suggested to name the wolf Rat, after Rat; Technoblade then disapproved of the name. After Technoblades's escape from The Vault, and Dream's disappearance, the wolf was slain by Awesamdude while searching the cell.
