The Pogtopian Uprising is a sub-conflict within the Manberg Rebellion that details the buildup of alliances after the official declaration of war between Manberg and Pogtopia, and before the day of the Manberg vs Pogtopia War.
Backround[]
The resignation[]
The day after the Manberg festival, Tommy headed over to Manberg with a single goal, to assassinate Schlatt. At the same time, Schlatt ordered Quackity to take down the original White House. Tommy aimed at Schlatt with a bow while Schlatt and Quackity continued their argument from yesterday about taking the White House down, the distribution of power between them, and the policies that were enacted by Schlatt.
In the end, Quackity told Schlatt that he needed to find a new Vice President and killed Schlatt before escaping into the forest. Schlatt proceeded to dismantle the White House by himself, with Ponk soon joining him in doing so.
A new alliance[]
Tommy had overheard the entire argument and decided to find Quackity in the forest. The two built a shakey trust, and Tommy allowed Quackity to join Pogtopia. Tommy mentioned to Quackity about how Wilbur had gone insane and how the festival went a lot better than it should have.
Tommy then informed Wilbur about Quackity joining the faction, and showed Quackity Pogtopia. The pair then decided to troll Schlatt (like Skeppy) by making Manberg less family friendly, building a giant cobblestone phallus in front of the Manberg flag. Wilbur, Tommy and Quackity found a monument to “Crying About It” that Schlatt had placed where the original White House stood. They all reminisced about building The White House together, and Wilbur leaked his explosive plan after saying that it was the only location not covered in his TNT.
The TNT room[]
Wilbur then showed off the room where he had put the button for the TNT. He had meant to go there during the festival, but had forgotten where the entrance was. He then gave a quick speech about he was ready to blow Manberg up and end it all. In the middle of it, Tommy accidentally sent a private message to Wilbur instead of Quackity, and their plan to stop him was revealed. They then tried to convince Wilbur to calm down and not hit the button, resorting to locking him in a cobblestone box blocking his reach. Tommy told Wilbur that they wouldn't leave the room, and that if he blew it up, he'd blow up them as well.
Wilbur decided to concede, but referenced the literary trope of "Chekhov's Gun" (a dramatic principle that states that every element in a story must be necessary, and irrelevant elements should be removed), which implied that Wilbur would detonate the TNT sooner or later. He then broke the button and said he would go with their plan.
Tommy and Quackity left the room so Wilbur could have a moment to himself and think, and during the time, he sung the L’Manberg National Anthem to himself and placed the button back. Wilbur then sealed the room behind him and the three began to make plans.
The plans for Manberg[]
Tommy, Quackity, and Wilbur then came up with several plans to enact instead of blowing everything up, but asserting that the explosions were still on the table. They laid out their plans in three stages, which ended up strangely named, Plan A, Plan 1, and Plan B, as they wanted them to correlate with the letters in specific words.
- Plan A (Plan Ass) - Plan A is where they decide to convince Schlatt to meet Quackity at a specific place and time and manipulate him.
- Plan 1 (A backup plan) - Plan 1 is to make a death trap that Schlatt can't escape.
- Plan B (Plan Bomb) - Wilbur was still attached to the bomb idea, and in order to regain his trust, Tommy and Quackity agreed to keep the plan as a last resort.
Niki's birthday[]
After Niki's birthday party, which several members of the server attended. Karl, Niki, Quackity and Wilbur hung out, singing songs and chilling out. After Quackity sang a "love song" to Wilbur, Wilbur suddenly told Quackity that he was "scum". He then went on to say that he had been waiting for this moment, that he had been waiting for someone to stream so he could do this in front of a large audience. He suddenly ran off to Manberg, saying that he was going to press the button and blow it up.
Quackity, Niki, and Karl ran after him, begging him not to blow it up (though Karl was confused about what was happening). Quackity tried to reason with Wilbur, but Wilbur retorted by asking Quackity when he was going to go through with Plan Ass. Quackity asked Wilbur to give him a few days to set up the meeting, and Wilbur agreed. They made a deal; Quackity would go through with Plan Ass, and Wilbur wouldn't blow up Manberg. Wilbur gave Quackity until Friday, November 6, to go through with the plan. If he didn't go through with it by then, Wilbur would blow up Manberg. Quackity agreed, and they both logged off for the night.
Tommy makes a deal[]
While searching for a name tag to name his horse, Tommy came upon Ponk, who offered him a deal. In exchange for a doctor's license in Pogtopia, he would give Tommy a book written by Dream for George's birthday. Tommy, deciding that he could put the book to good use for Dream/George clicks, agreed, writing and signing the book stating that Ponk was free to sell essential oils in Pogtopia for the next 20 days, where they would renew the contract.
When Tommy asked Ponk why he was asking for a license, Ponk replied that things in Manberg weren't going as well for him, and he didn't technically have the ability to practice.
Tommy then began heading around the server, discovering Techno's horse breeding cave. He decided to leave it alone, but before Tommy logged off for the night, Wilbur came online, vowing to 'free the horses from the darkness'. Tommy, knowing that Techno would be pissed off, but not wanting to get involved, logged off, and said he'd see what the damage was the next day.
Fireworks day[]
After Tommy, along with Tubbo, Fundy, and Techno walked around the server banning fireworks as the "Queens Jays", he was contacted by Quackity. Quackity then began asking if Tommy knew about Wilbur, and realized that Tommy wasn't caught up. He filled Tommy in on what had happened the night of Niki's birthday, that if they couldn't take Schlatt down, Wilbur would blow up Manberg.
Tommy then made a promise to Quackity that they would prepare the next day for the oncoming events.
Power struggle[]
Before meeting with Schlatt, Quackity devised a plan to hopefully transfer power without Schlatt being aware. He created a book, which he pretended was building plans for the new Manberg Hotel that Schlatt wanted to get started. The document was 100 pages long, with the very final page containing a clause that meant that immediately after Schlatt signed it, Quackity would take power. Quackity's main worry was that if he tried to assassinate Schlatt, Fundy would simply take over, and at that point, Quackity believed that Fundy was still loyal to the President.
He met with Tommy in Ninja's House to discuss, and Quackity showed him the book, having him read out the contents. They both agreed that it was a good plan, and Quackity went to set up a meeting with Schlatt. In their brief conversation, Quackity managed to convince Schlatt to meet him at the podium, despite his blatant disregard for what Quackity was trying to say.
While listening in to their conversation, Tommy returned to his holiday home, only to find that his horse, Jourse, had been stolen by Sapnap. He decided to table his anger towards Sapnap for another day, knowing that the current events were more important.
Meeting with Schlatt[]
Quackity then went to meet with Schlatt at the podium as Tommy rendezvoused with Wilbur at one of the towers that overlooked the podium. As Quackity and Schlatt discussed terms, Tommy and Wilbur listened in, thinking that they might actually have a shot at getting Schlatt to sign the papers. Things started to go sideways as Schlatt began reading more into the document, which Quackity had hoped he wouldn't. He then discovered the final page of the document, and began confronting Quackity not just about his underhandedness, but also about the location he discovered beneath the remains of the White House, Wilbur's TNT room.
Tommy went to join Wilbur on top of the NASA building as things escalated, to the point that Quackity began to seem in serious trouble. Wilbur then shot him with an invisibility arrow, allowing him to escape. Quackity, along with Tommy, began running towards Pogtopia, only for Schlatt to follow after them. As they went, Schlatt began to taunt them, saying that Pogtopia was no longer the safe haven they believed it to be, and that he'd put the TNT that was beneath Manberg to good use.
Tommy and Quackity didn't believe that to be true, before realizing that Wilbur was missing. Thinking that he might be trying to blow up Manberg, but knowing if they let Schlatt go, he'd try to blow up Pogtopia. They attempted to trap Schlatt in a cobblestone box, only for Quackity to kill him on accident. The two were contacted by Wilbur, who confirmed that the TNT was gone, and that they should meet up in Pogtopia, but that no one should touch any buttons they encountered.
War Declaration[]
Quackity and Tommy arrived in Pogtopia to find it griefed entirely in different colored buttons. The three concluded that it was Fundy who had placed them, and Quackity and Tommy worked to keep Wilbur from pressing the buttons. Wilbur said that he hadn't checked completely, but that the redstone connected to his TNT had been disconnected. He then reaffirmed his statement about Chekov's Gun, meaning that he still planned to blow it up.
Wilbur then decided to get in contact with Fundy, who happened to already be making his way to Pogtopia. Quackity and Tommy patronized Fundy, saying that they didn't want his help or anything to do with him, but Wilbur said to let him speak. Fundy then revealed the truth, that he was in no way loyal to Schlatt, and had been acting as a spy the entire time. He gave Wilbur and the other proof in the form of his Spy Diary, reading out a passage from Page 15, where he states classified information about Schlatt's health.
Surprised at the new information, Quackity asked what Fundy wanted with them, only to be interrupted by the arrival of BadBoyHalo, at whom the four began swearing to get him to go away. Wilbur then asked him back, as he began to realize something after Fundy's confession. Schlatt no longer had anyone on his side, he was completely alone, and with their powers combined, they could easily take him down in a war and reclaim their home.
Tommy then stated that they didn't have to blow it up, they could reclaim it, and make it theirs again. Quackity then agreed, saying that things could be like old times again, hopefully peaceful. He then spoke to Wilbur, saying that he wasn't trying to steal power from him when he'd run for president, just that he'd wanted a better future for Manbergians everywhere.
Dream then came online, and contacted those in Pogtopia, saying that Schlatt had given him something. He then joined their voice call, saying that after Schlatt gave him the undetermined thing, he had an obligation to defend Manberg, and to an extent Schlatt. Though he was asked several times why, Dream never revealed the reason. Wilbur then proposed that the finish things in a gentlemen's manner, holding a specific date for the final conflict. They settled on November 16, 10 days from that date, for it to be held. Tommy then stated that they would need to start gearing up, and preparing for war, only for Dream to counter, saying that he'd be making similar preparations for Schlatt. Dream then stated that there was a traitor in their midst, one that they wouldn't expect, and one that would hurt more than Eret.
The members of Pogtopia began accusing one another of being traitorous, with Wilbur asserting that he'd already made his loyalties clear, Fundy saying that he wouldn't have gone through with what he'd done if he wanted to betray them again, and Quackity and Tommy stating that they were too far into the game to go back. Wilbur stated that it was most likely Technoblade, which Dream didn't deny.
Tommy began heading back to his base to access an ender chest to bank his diamonds, while Fundy, Wilbur, and Quackity began discussing plans.
Loyalties[]
Quackity, Fundy, and Wilbur began putting together a plan of attack for the 16, jotting down their allies on the planning wall. They created lists of who was on what side, and began ranking how they stacked up against them. The three began discussing who the traitor might be, with Wilbur once again asserting Techno, while Quackity posited that it could be Tommy, to which Wilbur disagreed.
Wilbur began theorizing about what Dream might've gotten from Schlatt, and wondered if it was the presidency. He then went on to deduce that Dream could've made a deal with Tommy to give him the presidency in exchange for his help. All of them then thought it was odd how he'd left so quickly, and then pulled Tubbo into their voice channel as soon as he joined. The three returned to Manberg looking for Tommy, all beginning to believe that he might be the traitor.
Realities[]
After being split off from the group, and placed into a voice channel with Dream, the two began talking. Dream talked about how he could easily kill Tommy and the recently joined Ponk, who was working to protect him, and that both weren't as menacing as they believed themselves to be. Tommy asked Dream why he'd chosen to join with Schlatt, and wasn't on his side anymore, to which Dream replied that he was never on Tommy's side, or anyone's side, just his own.
Tubbo then joined, and Tommy asked if Tubbo was a traitor, which he said he wasn't, and to Tommy, fully confirmed that the traitor must be Techno. Tommy then gave him a quick recap about everything that happened.
Tommy then asked about his missing disc, Cat, and who actually had it. Tubbo said that it was in his ender chest, and a confused Dream asked Bad if he still had it, who then replied that he'd given it back to Skeppy. Dream asked Tubbo how he'd gotten it, who said he'd gotten it from Karl. Dream then said that Karl had a lot of discs, and there was a good chance that it wasn't the real one.
Tommy then tried to blackmail Dream with the book he'd gotten from Ponk, and Dream stated that he didn't really care. Tubbo returned Tommy's discs after revealing being behind the floor trap that had killed Tommy earlier that day. Dream tried to take the fake discs, but Tommy managed to pick them up before him. Tommy then decided the burn the fake discs, to make sure there wasn't any confusion later, only for Dream to put out the fire and take both of them. After some conversation, Dream then said he'd ask Skeppy about whether or not he'd ever traded the disc.
Confrontation and deliberation[]
The two groups converged as Tommy filled Tubbo in on everything that had happened. Quackity then confronted Tommy about why he was with Dream, to which he and Tubbo responded that they were trying to get their discs back. Tommy gave Tubbo the full rundown with everyone watching, filling him in on what had just happened previously.
GeorgeNotFound then joined the game, much to the excitement of everyone except for Quackity, who stated that this whole arc was George's fault for having slept through the election and the festival. He then shouted at George for it, whose only reaction was, "Hey guys".
While conversing and berating Bad for not swearing, Wilbur brought up the tree that stood next to the reconstructed flag, noting that it was the only tree left in the area. They all declared it the "L'Mantree" and everyone agreed that it would never be a part of the destruction, and that they'd preserve it as long as they could.
The groups then began preparing for war, creating plans and preparations, including the construction of a railway to Pogtopia in an operation called Operation: Poback created by Tommy. Before leaving, Awesamdude gifted Tommy with the head of a creeper, saying that it would summon him in Tommy's time of need.
Manberg's propaganda and recruitment[]
Days after the formation the new nation of Rutabagville, Sapnap and Karl, seeing Dream and his resources, agreed to fight on the side of Manberg against the Pogtopians. Rutabagville secretly became district of Manberg, which was unknown to one of the founders and residents - Niki. Dream created the Manberg war flag for banners and shields and distributed them.
After annexing Rutabagville, Dream spread his Manbergian banners around the server, acting as propaganda to convince people to join Manberg's army. However, Tommy was able to destroy them so Dream gave up on spreading the banners, and instead went on to a more manipulative movement. Dream gave George a banner without George knowing what is was for and manipulated George to put the banner on his shield. After George put the banner on his shield, Dream happily said that he was now indoctrinated into the Manberg army. George seemed unscathed by his reaction. However, when Dream gave Awesamdude a banner, Sam hesitated and instead kept the banner for safekeeping instead of putting it on his shield.
Suspicion[]
On November 8, 2020, Wilbur threatened to release Technoblade's prized horses, horses of top caliber on the server, into the wild. Angering Techno, he said, "This is why I will betray everyone on November 16, 2020." Although it seemed like a lighthearted joke, there was still some speculation on the seriousness of his statement.
On November 12, 2020, Ponk was in a call with Tubbo while fixing up Sam's XP Grinder. During multiple times, Tubbo stated that his allegiance was to Manberg, instead of L'Manberg. This created suspicion, which caused Ponk and his chat believe Tubbo was the traitor.
The Badlands's agenda[]
BadBoyHalo, Antfrost, and Awesamdude discussed their role in the Manberg-Pogtopian War, and Bad revealed that they'd aid Pogtopia in the war, but that their goal was to keep the conflict going as long as possible. Ant reiterated to Sam that the plan was to 'box' them in while claiming the land outside of the Manberg and Pogtopian borders, but they are thinking very carefully since Pogtopia won't forgive them if they crossed sides. In addition, they are the smallest group in the war so their containment plan is very vulnerable to both factions.
Arming up[]
Quackity realized that he was far outclassed by the enemy, and wished to at least obtain equal gear. Quackity negotiated multiple deals for supplies and aid to help him search for netherite. He had gotten Sam to provide him with tools and armor, and George and BadBoyHalo to teach him the process of netherite mining. However, Quackity, being very uncareful, lost his supplies multiple times while dying in lava and being AFK. He eventually started to give up, instead jokingly using ancient debris as building materials for his builds.
Tubbo also realized that he was very weak, so he and Sam went mining for diamonds and netherite. In addition, Sam's new XP farm also provided them with experience, allowing for them to build up in strength.
Tubbo began building up his arsenal, working to create a set of what he hoped were over-powered crossbows to aid him against people in Netherite. Along with Fundy, he worked to enchant several different crossbows with every enchant he could get. Together, they armed their arsenal with not only crossbows, but also fireworks, in a similar manner to Technoblade. However, after some testing, they realized that they weren't great for damage against people in armor, but might work as a good finisher, or a way to kill someone in a spectacle.
The final pet war[]
After negotiating armor with Technoblade and BadBoyHalo, Tommy confronted Sapnap about his horse, Jourse, who Sapnap had stolen during the Second Pet War. Sapnap agreed to lead Tommy to Jourse and return him in exchange for Mars, Sapnap's beloved fish. Along with this, Sapnap offered to fight on Tommy's side, as according to him, he hadn't chosen a side yet. Tommy immediately didn't trust him, knowing that Sapnap would betray him in the end.
The two began arguing over what was fair, and Tommy stated that he knew that Sapnap would always eventually betray him, and in retaliation, Sapnap killed Jourse. He attempted to kill Tommy as well, but Tommy managed to bank Mars in his ender chest. While fleeing and calling for Techno, he was intercepted by a recently joined George and Dream, who claimed to want to kill Sapnap.
Tommy, George, and Dream, along with the recently joined Thunder1408, or Jack Manifold, began tracking Sapnap down to Punz's tower. Techno, who was dealing with technical troubles, was forced off the server, while the four confronted Sapnap. Sapnap then threatened to jump off the tower so that they wouldn't have the luxury of killing him, only to end up doing so.
Dream, no longer interested in killing Sapnap, lead Tommy to Sapnap's secret base, where he was keeping all of his pets. George and Dream attempted to coerce Tommy into killing Sapnap's pets, but Tommy had no interest, and didn't want to become like Sapnap. He then challenged Sapnap to a duel in Eret's Museum, with only iron armor and iron swords. If Tommy won, he'd take Sapnap's netherite armor, and have Technoblade kill all of his pets, and if Sapnap won, he'd have Mars returned to him. Several members of the SMP joined to watch the battle, including the recently returned Technoblade, Quackity, Karl, and Awesamdude.
Tommy then attempted to rush Sapnap for what he'd hoped was an easy kill, only for Sapnap to deal several critical hits, killing Tommy easily. After dying, those in attendance began to belittle Tommy for his skill, who began to reconsider his own abilities, stating that he realized every time he attempted to fight someone 1v1, he always ended up losing.
Tommy then joined Sapnap in a separate call, and stated that in order to end the brutal reign of pet wars, he would release Mars into the sea. Sapnap agreed, but asked Tommy to let him do it. Together, they watched Mars swim away, and Tommy stated that, no matter what happened the next day, he and Sapnap would be allies after the war.
