The Rise of Manberg and Pogtopia is a subsection of the arc known as the Manberg Rebellion. It is the second subsection within the arc, and takes places after the Election Fallout, and before the Festival Era.

History[]

After Wilbur Soot and TommyInnit were exiled from Manberg, they needed allies and supplies, and found them closer than they expected. Technoblade and Dream both offered their help, each in weapons proficiency, and sheer resource gathering ability.

Tubbo continued to work as a spy for Pogtopia, the burgeoning state existing outside the Greater Dream SMP.

Tensions began to arise between the Jschlatt Administration and citizens previously or currently loyal to the exiled Pogtopia, including the burning of the L'Manberg flag by Fundy.

New Nations and New Faces[]

Preparing for Future Conflict[]

Following the election fallout the day earlier, Technoblade logged onto the server overnight, seemingly in an undisclosed location. It was joked that Techno had never logged off, and worked on his potato farm for 14 hours straight.

Niki attempted to convince Tubbo to officially join the rebellion after conversing with HBomb and touring him around the server. It appeared that while Tubbo was interested, but was reluctant to commit to the cause due to the fact that he didn't want to betray Schlatt's trust completely.

Tubbo was soon messaged by Punz in regards to forming an alliance. Punz asked Tubbo to come to the Camarvan to discuss matters. Punz offered him various items of importance, Tubbo reluctantly took the items, then the two went their separate ways.

Wilbur and Techno began working more on excavating Pogtopia, during which Wilbur inquired about a chest Techno had covered with dirt. He claimed it was a gift from "god" to be given to Tommy when he arrived.

Tubbo began building an archive of the conflicts and history of L'Manberg. He was eventually invited to join Wilbur and Techno in Pogtopia, where Wilbur asked if he could help automate the potato farm, to which Tubbo agreed.

Schlatt joined and began asking Tubbo questions about where he'd been, and to come back to Manberg to assist him. Schlatt said that he'd take things down inside the L'Manberg eventually, starting with the "elton john house" and ending with the Camarvan.

Tubbo showed Wilbur Schlatt's Presidental To-Do list, and a worried Wilbur began to consider whether or not he could trust anyone at all, even Techno, Tommy or Tubbo.

Into Manberg[]

When Schlatt began to threaten Niki with taxes, and Wilbur decided to go after her with Techno in tow. He managed to contact her, and tell her to lay low, and that he didn't have the resources to bring more people into Pogtopia quite yet.

While in Manberg, they found that Fundy was rebuilding the flag, now with a new purple design. Wilbur, disgusted by what his son had done, ordered Techno to shoot Fundy off of the flag. Techno nearly got caught by Schlatt while in Manberg, until Tommy suddenly joined the server out of nowhere, and distracted everyone as he threatened to burn down Manberg. Wilbur told Tommy to show restraint, for now.

As Wilbur and Techno returned home, Fundy and Schlatt then began talking, and Fundy wholly rejected Wilbur as his father. Schlatt then promoted Fundy to Viceroy Chairman of Manberg. Immediately after, Wilbur told Tommy to burn everything to the ground, but leave Fundy alive. Tommy burned down the flag on his orders, but the fire was immediately put out by Fundy. Tommy then burnt down a nearby forest, which had been one of the things in Schlatt's to-do list. Wilbur berated him for doing so, and Tommy left abruptly in shame.

In order to try and win back some of Wilbur's favor, Tubbo filled him in on Quackity growing independence from Schlatt, as in the words of Tubbo, "Quackity's sick of having a fat ass". He no longer wanted to be seen as an object, and simply wanted to be appreciated.

Niki permanently left Manberg to live in Tommy's Holiday home so she wouldn't be imprisoned and taxed again. When sneaking back to her her bakery for supplies, she noticed the Manberg Flag had been left unguarded after Fundy stopped it burning. She quickly set fire to it, doing more damage then Tommy did and then fled to the woods after being spotted.

Fundy Undercover[]

Fundy made a spy diary in order to keep track of the events that occurred each day in Manberg. Fundy planned to gain Schlatt's complete trust by becoming his right hand man and pitching the idea of a new flag, so that his tyranny could be taken down once and for all. However, Niki and Tubbo were completely unaware, and still believe that Fundy was on Schlatt's side.

Secret Plots[]

Niki and Eret's Plot[]

Eret stated that he wanted to help Pogtopia, but was struggling to figure out how he could regain Tommy & Wilbur's trust. Niki and Eret began to conspire about what they might do, and amassed a large amount of TNT and gunpowder. Though Niki revealed that she wanted to blow up the White House, Eret said that that wasn't the extent of what they were planning to do, and it had yet to be released.

Eret revealed that he had been secretly working on gathering resources to give to Pogtopia, and had cleared an area under his castle for them to use. He later gave Techno a tour of the SMP when Techno stopped by to ask for directions, and decided to make a potato farm in the cleared area to win over Techno's trust.

The Secret Meeting[]

Technoblade decided to go into the nether to mine for some resources, specifically ancient debris. While mining, Techno couldn't help but feel like he was being followed, yet he continued on his way regardless. After getting lost many times in the overworld and finding a fair amount of resources, Techno was mysteriously invited by Dream to attend a secret meeting out in the wilderness.

At the meeting, Dream revealed that it was indeed him that had sent the gift for Tommy. He added that he supported the Pogtopian effort, but couldn't get involved at the present time due reasons that were unknown at the time (it is now known that it is due to the Peace Treaty), so he was required to remain in the shadows. He proceeded to give Techno a god apple, diamonds, two netherite ingots, half a stack of golden apples, and some ender pearls to take along with him for the journey.

Eret Replaces the POG2020 Sign[]

Eret decided to change the sign Tommy had made in support of POG2020 into one supporting Pogtopia. He posted a screenshot of the new sign on Twitter, where Quackity and Jschlatt were quick to respond with Quackity saying "Wtf", and Jschlatt saying "Will be taken down soon!"

Meanwhile, Tubbo finished automating the potato farm in Pogtopia, while Tommy prepared for Ninja's arrival in the background.

Techno's Future Plans[]

While farming for items and considering his options, Techno began wondering whether he should continue to fight for Pogtopia. When he'd first joined, he'd been under the impression that it would be Wilbur and Tommy verses everyone, and now it appeared that it would be everyone again Schlatt. Techno pointed out that Schlatt essentially had no armors or weaponry, and that should the conflict become a 30v1, he would consider making it a 29v2 for the content.

Dream's Gift[]

During Ninja's visit to the SMP, Tommy took him to Pogtopia, where he opened the chest Dream left for him. Inside, Dream had left him a full set of netherite armor (which he originally was going to give to Skeppy in exchange for Tommy's disc), as well as netherite sword, along with some other items, and most importantly, Dream's prized crossbow, DEFINITELY NOT PENIS.

Dream left him a book, "Tyranny", in which he told Tommy that he didn't support Schlatt's actions, as all Schlatt wanted was power, weapons, and to expand Manberg into the Dream SMP lands, something that Dream was not happy about. Dream also told Tommy that Schlatt is no Wilbur, as Wilbur ruled with peace and kindness, and Schlatt does not follow the same principles. However, due to Schlatt technically being a democratically elected leader, Dream can't get involved directly, as it would break the peace treaty between the Dream Team and Manberg, which is why he has been continuously stating that he must help from the shadows. Nevertheless, Dream stated that Schlatt must be overthrown.

Newcomers in the SMP[]

The Visa Marriage Incident[]

While touring Ninja around the SMP, Tommy, Quackity, and Wilbur married George and Ninja in order to secure more Visas. After much back and forth between the two groups, Quackity and George granted them a visa for three hours of free time in Manberg in exchange for a week of social service and jail time.

Back to Pogtopia[]

After the Ninja stream, Tommy and Wilbur met in Manberg territory to read Dream's message, and learn where his loyalties lie. While leaving Manberg back to Pogtopia, they were intercepted by Schlatt, who questioned why they were still on his land despite the visa having expired.

The Pogtopians revealed to Schlatt that they managed to secure another visa from George and Quackity following Ninja's marriage to George. Schlatt asked to see the new visa, but the only book Wilbur had on him at the time was Dream's "Tyranny". Panicking, Wilbur told Technoblade to enact "Operation JFK", which ended with Tommy killing Schlatt and Quackity. The Pogtopians returned to their home unscathed, with new information.

Wilbur and Tommy had some arguments over the design in Pogtopia, which ended in Tommy getting stuck in a room he was trying to construct.

Lemon City Trade Deal[]

Following the murder of Schlatt and Quackity, Ponk approached Quackity with the Lemon City Trade deal, which offered Manberg tipped arrows and access to The Hole (a chunk error outside of the city) for Quackity's ass.

Schlatt agreed to the deal, and Quackity signed the deal on behalf of Schlatt.

Rebuilding the Manberg Flag[]

After being given approval from Schlatt, Fundy rebuilt the unburnt section of the Manberg flag with obsidian and magma blocks, so that the flag would be more difficult to destroy. Schlatt, Fundy and Quackity then continued to clean up Manberg and took down some long-standing structures around the area. They left the 'Camarvan' standing as Schlatt wanted to watch Tubbo take it down instead.

Schlatt then ordered Quackity to take down Eret's "POGTOPIA" sign. Quackity destroyed the sign and replaced it with the word "CRY" in cobblestone. Schlatt also made plans to take over the former L'Manberg Embassy (a.k.a. Tommy's original home) and expand his territory further into the DreamSMP lands. Schlatt promoted Fundy to Archbishop of Manberg as a reward for building the new flag. Fundy narrowly avoided being outed as a spy, after Schlatt caught him writing in his journal.

Changing Powers[]

Bad & Sapnap's Future Plans[]

Throughout the days following the election, BadBoyHalo was seen attempting to give Techno gifts, such as a mending book and stacks of cooked chicken, with each time Techno running away because he believed that Bad was out to get him. It was implied that Bad supported the Pogtopian efforts along with Eret. However, it seems that Bad hasn't chosen what side he wants to support. During a stream, Bad stated that he may join Schlatt's side in order to balance things out, giving similar reasoning as Techno. He stated in the same stream that he would support the side that opposes whatever side Sapnap supports (as Sapnap was being mean/teasing him during his stream), but he would most likely support whatever side Skeppy ended up supporting.

Skeppy then gave one of Tommy's important music discs, 'Cat' to Bad with the promise that they would only transfer the disc between each other and no-one else. Bad put the music disc in his Ender Chest; however it is unknown if Bad intends to do anything with it at the present moment. Skeppy and Bad debated whether or not to create a faction of their own that would play both sides of the conflict, and decided to do so. They planned to take over the server in the future by using the leverage of having Tommy's disc, and push Manberg and Pogtopia to weakness through further conflict.

At around the same time, Sapnap explained to Karl that he wanted to take over Manberg and exploit it for oil, and that he wanted Karl to be his right hand man. They planned on taking over Manberg by coming out of nowhere and overthrowing Schlatt; unlike Pogtopia, it seems that they are planning to continue the tyrant control Schlatt ruled with, or something similar of the sort.

The Underground Railway[]

In Tommy's stream, Technoblade and Tommy discussed creating a tunnel to the lake in Manberg. Tommy said that he wanted to develop a massive railway running from Pogtopia to Manberg in order to easily go between the two nations, yet Technoblade argued that their horses were far better for that task. Eventually, they settled that building an underground passage into Manberg was more important for a direct attack on the city. However, because they couldn't bring horses into the ravine, Tommy was given the go ahead to build his underground railway.

Taking Hostages[]

Techno and Tommy decided to build an "Intimidation Tower" outside of their base, claiming to use "advanced intimidation techniques", (better known as 'torture'). They went into the Dream SMP to find resources, and impulsively decided to take someone hostages. Since Tubbo was already with them, they decided to take him "hostage", along with Antfrost, who happened to be on the server at the time, as well as being someone they deemed wouldn't understand the current situation. After baiting him by saying that they wanted more friends, they then confiscated all of his armor and weapons as a down payment, and took him to Pogtopia. They called Ant their "mandatory worker" (because saying hostage or slave might scare him off), and forced him to mine cobblestone for them. Tubbo then split off into another alter ego, Subbo, and started sobbing, and became very sad. It was at this point that Tommy and Techno decided to make Subbo work for them, and forced him to mine along with Antfrost.

Wilbur then got into the call with Techno and Tommy, and asked why they were "bullying a Siamese cat" (aka Antfrost). Tommy then told Wilbur that they weren't bullying a Siamese cat, and that his name was Tubbo. Wilbur then asked what the other worker's name was, and Tommy replied that they were both named Tubbo. Suddenly, Techno killed Ant, claiming that Ant was going to go through their base to expose where it was. Tommy protested, saying that Ant was their only good worker. However, Techno had hit both Tubbo and Ant with his Axe of Peace, which causes memory loss, and as a result, Ant and Tubbo don't remember that they were hostages of Pogtopia, rather that they were just workers for them.

Wilbur then returned to the call to ask what they were doing, and Tommy and Techno asked him if he had wanted to build buildings around Pogtopia in order to expand. Wilbur said no, as it would reveal their location to Manberg and the Dream SMP. Instead of admitting it was him, Tommy quickly lied, and said that someone had griefed the outside of their base and built a tower there, as Techno had suggested they do at the beginning of the stream. Tommy stated after Wilbur left the call again that he would continue work on the tower the next day.

It turned out that Ant had actually remembered everything that happened and returned to Pogtopia the next day, in order to find and take his stuff back. While he was there, he decided to take revenge on Tommy, and together with BadBoyHalo, put pink wool bands around the tower outside of Pogtopia, and crossed out the "FEAR" sign, put a sign that said "LOVE" above it.

The War of the Burning Eiffel Tower[]

The Death of Henry[]

Main article: The War of the Burning Eiffel Tower

Henry, Tommy's cow, who had previously been 'hidden' at the Eiffel Tower meant for Karl and Sapnap's honeymoon after Tommy worried that Henry might not be safe in his summer home, was discovered by Sapnap. In an attempt to kidnap Henry to have leverage over Tommy, Sapnap accidentally killed Henry.

When Tommy returned onto the server, he found that Henry was no longer where he'd left him, and after watching clips from Karl's stream, found out who it was who'd killed Henry. Tommy attempted to get in contact with Sapnap, who at the time was AFK.

Nihachu helped Tommy come up with the idea to grief the Eiffel Tower built for Karl and Sapnap's honeymoon. Dream, along with Skeppy and BadBoyHalo then logged on, and Dream agreed to help Tommy lava trap the tower, and cover it in cobblestone.

Bad and Skeppy then began to fight Tommy as Dream went to fix his armor, and the four of them had a duel before Sapnap logged on, and their attention was taken elsewhere. Dream and Tommy then attempted to frame Bad for griefing the tower, taking screenshots of him in front of it, but when Sapnap logged on, he didn't believe that Bad could've been the one who did it.

While negotiating, Sapnap ate Henry's remains in front of Tommy, which provoked him to begin attacking. Bad, Skeppy, and Sapnap then began hunting down Dream and Tommy, before calling a brief truce. Dream and Tommy returned to Tommy's summer home as Bad, Skeppy, and Sapnap took Nihachu hostage.

Dream took Tommy to an Ender Chest, and gifted him with Sapnap's fish, Mars. He then said that he'd been too involved, and needed to return to the shadows.

Tommy went to save Nihachu from Bad, Skeppy, Sapnap, and Ant, and Tommy told Sapnap that he was currently in posession of Mars. Sapnap asked to see Mars in exchange for Nihachu's freedom. Tommy then told Niki to run, and pearled into a tower of water to escape.

Meanwhile, Niki had been left with the company of Antfrost, who was supposed to be keeping her hostage. Niki asked to negotiate, and Ant remembered the time she'd given him free food from her bakery to help him. Niki agreed to help Ant build his zoo in return for her freedom. When Tommy yelled for her to run, she did and ran down the Prime Path. However, Antfrost chased her and even hit her, she berated him angrily, saying that they had a deal. When Sapnap heard this, he grew suspicious of Ant, but Ant continued to chase Niki saying he was going to kill her. Niki realized it was all a ruse and secretly thanked him before running to safety.

Technoblade then joined to help in the fight, along with Dream returning to protect them.

The Battle of The Lake[]

Main article: The Battle of The Lake

Techno, Dream, and Tommy converged with Punz, Sapnap, Bad, Ant, and Skeppy for one battle to determine the fates of both parties, with Tommy threatening Mars, and Bad threatening his disc, Cat.

The battle went on for a while, with casualties on each side, and Punz betraying Sapnap's side for Dream and the crew. Niki rejoined the battle at one point, was accidentally killed by Technoblade. They then obtained a good amount of Sapnap and Skeppy's items, but Bad began threatening Tommy's disc again.

After winning the battle, Tommy made everyone promise not to tell Schlatt, as Schlatt would mobilize his only men and begin to assault the Pogtopian base.

The Underground Prime Path[]

Tommy decided to extend The Underground Prime Path underground into Pogtopia in order to expand his money making schemes. While on his way to build, Quackity found out about the fact that the tunnel lead all the way from Pogtopia to Manberg, and threatened to tell Schlatt. Tommy tried to give him drugs to keep him quiet, but Schlatt found it anyway.

Wilbur and Tubbo attempted to close up the path that diverted to Pogtopia, angering Tommy, who said that they were griefing his money making scheme. In a moment of heated anger, Wilbur told Tommy that "he wasn't the president, and that he would never be the president", causing Tommy to shut down at the insult and leave the two of them alone.

Eventually, Schlatt logged on and began touring around Manberg, collecting his supporters. He ended up finding the bunker beneath Manberg, which Tubbo tried to cover up, saying that it was something he'd built for Schlatt personally.
