Punz is the tenth member of the Dream SMP, joining on July 7, 2020. He is a mercenary who was corrupted by the Egg for some time. Currently, he is the acting leader of the Dream SMP after Dream decided to go into hiding after the destruction of L'Manberg. Punz and Dream possess the only known method of resurrection, and extensively tested the Revival Book together. They later staged the Disc Confrontation, and Punz remains secretly aligned with Dream. He re-equipped Dream following his escape from Pandora's Vault, deceiving the rest of the server as to his true views and allegiances.
Physiology[]
Punz is a human with light skin, blue eyes, and blond hair. He wears a white hoodie, black ripped jeans, white shoes, and a gold chain around his neck.
Corrupted[]
After Punz was influenced by the Egg, his chain became a blood vine chain (though the medallion stayed the same) and his eyes became red. Later, Punz's corrupted apperance changed from his winter version to his casual version. The black stripes on his jacket changed to a blood vine red and the medallion on his chain was no longer a normal gold color. His jacket and the tear marks on his jeans appeared to be tinted grey.
Personality[]
In the past, Punz was solely a mercenary who was on his own side, siding with whoever he personally wanted to side with.[7] On some occasions, he could be bought off to switch sides if payment was involved, such as during the Battle of the Lake.[8] Dream always paid Punz to be on his side, but eventually the payment became secondary to Punz as their friendship grew and his ideals and motivations aligned with Dream's.[9] Punz still pretends to be purely a mercenary to the rest of the server, but his true loyalty lies with Dream and their mutual plans.[10]
After Dream obtained the Revival Book, Punz and Dream's most important motive became to learn everything about the world.[11] Punz wants to know all the mysteries, aiming to live forever with Dream to have enough time to do so.[12] As they learned more about life and death and previously unknown server mechanics, Punz started seeing the other server members as one-dimensional and simple minded people who were unable to see the bigger picture.[13] He can be blunt and angry towards others when they assume that they have the same level of knowledge as him and Dream.[14][15]
Punz hides behind his mercenary persona, deceiving other people into thinking that he only cares about money.[16] He uses this to his advantage to seem uninvolved in Dream's plans and actions. This has prevented people on the server from turning against him, and as such Punz is free to gather intel and help Dream in secret.[17] With the exception of Dream, Punz is distrustful of many people and prefers not to share information with others.[18] Punz agreed with Dream's goal of having one united server, and despises nations for tearing people apart.[19][20]
Punz can be ruthless in order to achieve his goals and does not shy away from violence. This was especially evident when he and Dream tested the Revival Book on Vikkstar and LazarBeam, taking all of their canon lives and killing them permanently after their revival.[21] Punz also purposefully died to learn about what limbo was like.[22] Furthermore, Punz values chaos and having power. This was the reason that he joined the Eggpire which led to him becoming corrupted by the Egg for some time.[23][24]

Early Dream SMP Arc[]

Punz joined the server along with Tubbo, Purpled, and Fundy.[25] Upon joining, he started construction on his house, including a beekeeping complex because he enjoyed beekeeping.[26] He befriended Tubbo, gifting him multiple pet bees.[27][28]
The Disc Saga[]

Punz became involved in the Disc Saga after Tommy and Sapnap (non-canonically) killed Dream and refused to return Dream's items. Punz tried to help Dream fight back but was also killed instead. He then killed Tommy and escorted him to the Courthouse along with Dream.[29] Later, Punz traded a blaze rod and an ender pearl with Tommy in exchange for an apple, which helped Tommy create an ender chest.[30]
L'Manberg Independence Arc[]
Dream Team SMP vs L'Manberg War[]

During the Dream SMP vs L'Manberg War, Punz joined Dream in fighting against L'Manberg. He took part in the bombing of the L'Manberg Embassy.[31] He knew about Eret being a traitor, and his house was used as the home base of the Dream SMP side.[32] He participated in the skirmish of the Final Control Room and killed Wilbur, taking his first canon life.[33]
Post-War[]
Post-war, Punz was involved in Dream's $5000 Deal or No Deal event on the server.[34]
The Pet War[]

Punz and Sapnap confront Fundy
During The Pet War, Punz lost his pet bee, Beenis. Fundy was upset that Sapnap killed his enderman and Niki's pet fox Fungi. While Punz was not directly involved, he was an ally of Sapnap. Fundy forced Punz play a bee game that would either kill or return Beenis. During the event, Punz lost all his items to Tommy and Tubbo, and a small portion of his tower was destroyed after Fundy painted him as the villain. Beenis likely died in this event, though Punz denied it for a time.[35] However, he was able to get Fundy's netherite leggings, named "Drip but Brown", during the bee game which he gave to Sapnap to use as leverage.[36][37] After Punz informed Sapnap of the events, Sapnap confronted Fundy while Punz stood by.[38]
Post-Pet War[]
After the pet war, Punz helped Karl and Sapnap build The Eiffel Tower for their honeymoon.[39]
Manberg Rebellion Arc[]

Mercenary work[]

After the Election Fallout, Punz killed Wilbur on Schlatt's orders.[40][41] Schlatt later gave George a raise, and offered money to Punz as well when Punz asked for it. Punz said he did not lose anything by accepting the money and that he was not even part of L'Manberg, agreeing with Schlatt that the nation was now called Manberg.[42] In a seeming act of cooperation with Manberg, Punz killed Alyssa after she attacked Schlatt, as well as taking out Nihachu after she aided Tommy in burning down the new flag.[43] Despite this, Punz considered himself to be independent.[44]During the Battle of the Lake, Punz initially sided with Sapnap against Pogtopia and Dream. However, Dream paid Punz to join his side, and Pogtopia eventually won the conflict.[8]
Items Conflict[]

During the Items Conflict, Punz refused to play Hide and Seek with Sapnap and Karl, causing Sapnap to burn down his house and hunt some of his pets. During this time, his house suffered damage in an unrelated incident. Punz patched the damage, but with different blocks to preserve the history. He and Sapnap were able to come to an agreement and everyone's items were returned.[45]
Manberg Festival[]

Punz was invited to the Manberg Festival. He followed Schlatt's and Quackity's orders when they when they commanded everyone to attack the Pogtopian's and their allies.[46]
After the festival, Punz helped Tubbo and Sam in draining the section of the ocean used for the Guardian XP farm.[47]
Second Pet War[]

Punz and Sapnap fought together against the Badlands in the Second Pet War. After finding a panda and bringing it back with Sapnap's help, Antfrost stole it. Punz negotiated for the return of his panda, threatening BadBoyHalo. Ant agreed to return the panda, but while transporting the panda back, Punz accidentally killed it with thorns armor. Initially, Punz blamed himself for the death, but Sapnap persuaded him to blame Ant. In the end, Punz and Sapnap made amends with the Badlands, agreeing to return items and accepting a replacement panda.[48]
Manberg vs Pogtopia War[]

Right before the Manberg vs Pogtopia War, Punz joined Dream and George in dethroning Eret as king of the Dream SMP.[49] During the war, Punz fought with Dream against Pogtopia.[50] After Tommy was named as the new president, Punz stood with Dream, stating that he would never bow to Tommy. When Technoblade acted against Tubbo's new government, Punz sided with Techno and helped him and Dream fight.[51]
Retribution Arc[]
Reconstruction Era[]
After the war, Punz spent a lot of time revamping and decorating his house and yard. He built a stable for his new horse, Bumpkin, in the yard.[52] Before Christmas, he redecorated his house, building a Christmas tree, a candy cane path, and a snowy area for his new polar bear, Comet, to live in.[53]
Lani's restaurant[]

During Lani's visit, Punz was friendly to her, similar to his relationship with Tubbo. While running their restaurant, Tommy attempted to sell boots to Punz, but Lani gave out the boots for free. Tommy got sick of Lani and killed her, and in turn, Punz killed him for "hitting a woman". After Mexican Dream took all of their items, Punz killed him so Lani could get her items back.[54]
Mexican L'Manberg[]

George hired Punz to help him build his new country, after Punz criticized George for hiring two of the worst builders of the server. Together with George, Sapnap and Quackity he built the dirt foundation of what would become Mexican L'Manberg.[55] He was considered to be a citizen of the country, but later turned against them when he became a Knight of Eret.[56][57]
Exile Conflict[]

Punz was on Dream's side during the Exile Conflict. After Tommy burned George's house, Punz stated to the L'Manberg citizens that he thought peace was among them but that it seemed that it was just a myth.[58] When Dream was threatening to build a wall up to the block limit around L'Manberg, he said he would hire Punz and Sapnap as guards to make sure everyone stayed inside.[59]
Dethronement of George[]

After Dream dethroned George as king of the Dream SMP, Punz stood by Dream's side, agreeing that it was for the best if George was dethroned.[60] Later on while George, Sapnap, BadBoyHalo and Quackity were talking, Dream and Punz ambushed the group and attacked Quackity, killing him.[61]
Knights of Eret[]

On December 6, 2020, Punz was recruited as a knight of Dream SMP. He was the third citizen to be officially knighted in the Dream SMP after Captain Puffy and HBomb. Eret, the King of Dream SMP, knighted Punz at the entrance of Punz's house, witnessed by the other two knights.[57]

The Knights of Eret began their first mission the same day. Eret, rallying their knights, began an assault on Mexican L'Manberg's territory due to its citizens exploding a small part of Eret's Castle. They also stole Eret's throne, and tried to frame Eret for killing Karl. The mission succeeded and the Mexican L'Manbergians fled to the Holy Land to negotiate for their official recognition.[62]
When Eret questioned which side Dream was on, Punz said Dream was "on his own side", like himself. He also mentioned that he joined the knight mission because he had to act on the explosions he heard. Once the issue was resolved, Punz almost immediately asked to resign from his newly appointed role as knight, and Eret agreed, despite being a little confused. Dream stated that Punz was more of a mercenary than a knight.[63]
Squeeks Conflict[]

Punz had always maintained a cordial relationship with Tubbo. After Mushroom died and upset Tubbo, Punz gifted him a new fox. Tubbo asked Punz for help spelling the new name, "Squeaks," which Punz did not know how to spell and suggested "Squeeks." During the conflict, Punz and Dream defended Squeeks and Tubbo against Sapnap.[64]
During the conflict, Tubbo mentioned that he was poor, and that he was going to offer to work for Punz for items. Punz interrupted him and gave him valuable resources such as netherite ingots and iron blocks.[65]
Technoblade's Execution[]

During Technoblade's Execution, Punz and Dream worked together to save Technoblade. Punz interrupted Tubbo's speech, throwing snowballs at Tubbo before swooping in. He attacked the Butcher Army and placed TNT around the site as a distraction while Dream took Carl from the Butcher Army. After Technoblade survived the execution, Punz distracted the army long enough for Techno to escape before making a swift exit with his riptide trident.[66]
Meeting with Dream[]
Shortly after Technoblade's Execution, Dream invited Punz to go on a walk with him. Dream noted that Punz was the only one who had always been on his side, and that while he paid Punz, their relationship had evolved beyond that. Punz felt the same and agreed that they had grown a strong alliance and friendship. Dream said that recently everyone was turning against him, and that Punz being on his side would not be safe for Punz. He proposed that Punz should pretend not to be on his side anymore. They would still be friends but Punz would secretly act as a spy for Dream.[67]

They arrived outside Pandora's Vault, where Dream explained how the prison worked and that few people knew its usage. Dream reminded Punz that the goal had always been to have one united server, where there were no countries and it was essentially one big family. Dream said he he would do something soon that nobody would like him for, leaving Punz secretly in charge of the Dream SMP to keep an eye on things. They planned a public, staged falling-out where Dream would kill Punz's horse, Bumpkin. However, Punz would replace Bumpkin with a fake horse in order to keep the real one safe.[68]
After Dream left, Punz went to look for a brown horse with a similar speed to Bumpkin. He found a horse in a savannah biome and switched the real Bumpkin with the fake one. Punz hid the real Bumpkin in a cave behind his house.[69]
Sex-Ed[]
Shortly after KSI joined the server on December 20, 2020, KSI built a school and taught Sex-Ed with Quackity's help. Punz was one of nine students in the class. During class, Punz was instructed by KSI to get a chicken to become the "teacher's pet." For Punz's homework assignment, he drew two stickmen: a larger one labeled "Punz" and a shorter one labeled "KSI." When KSI questioned his assignment, Punz joked about KSI's height, leading to KSI asking Dream to turn him into a chicken as a punishment. As a chicken, George bred Punz with the "teacher's pet" as his class project, resulting in Punz having a chick. The chick was later killed by KSI, and Punz failed to graduate.[70]
Doomsday War[]

After Dream announced he would destroy L'Manberg alongside Technoblade, Punz declared that Dream had gone too far and sided with L'Manberg for the upcoming battle.[71] This was a ploy to gain L'Manberg's trust, as he and Dream had plotted to have Punz act as a spy prior to the conflict. Punz assisted the people of L'Manberg in fighting off the Hound Army and withers spawned by Philza and Technoblade.[72] The day after, Tommy remarked to Tubbo how surprising it was to see Punz fighting on their side rather than on Dream's.[73]
Pure Corruption[]

While expanding his underground statue room, BadBoyHalo discovered the Egg, a red egg that mysteriously appeared in the room. Over time, the vines spread their spores across the server, with some appearing on Punz's property – although Punz was quick to destroy them when they appeared. Along with Sam, Punz was concerned for Antfrost and Bad, who were under the Egg's influence.[74]
Eventually, Bad and Ant snapped out of their trances, realizing the negative influence of the Egg. However, Skeppy accidentally trapped himself inside the obsidian that Bad and CaptainPuffy used to cover the Egg to stifle its negative effects. This led to Skeppy becoming corrupted by the Egg.[75] Bad then began experimenting on the Egg to figure out how the Egg worked and cure Skeppy. Punz helped him at times with these experiments, donning a hazmat suit from Church Prime when entering the Egg room.[76]
Punz joining the Eggpire
On January 14, 2021, Bad gathered Punz, Puffy and Ant for a meeting, showing them the growth of the Egg in the statue room and the spread of the vines. Bad then pitched his plan to the three – as the Egg was going to breach containment anyway, they would let it spread around the server, and take advantage of the ensuing chaos to gain power. While initially hesitant, Punz agreed to the plan because he was bored and interested in the power and land they had to offer.[24] He decided to ally with (but not join) the Badlands along with Puffy and formed the Eggpire.[77] In the beginning, Punz only felt the Egg's influence a little.[24] As time went on and the vines grew down his tower, he started feeling the Egg's influence more and more, and only cared for the success of the Eggpire.[2]
The Revival Book Tests[]

Some time before the Disc Confrontation, Punz met with Dream at Punz's tower to discuss the Revival Book. They wanted to test if the book actually worked, but Punz was worried about choosing a suitable person to test it on. Eventually, they decided on Vikkstar and LazarBeam, as they were one of the few people who would not be missed. After hunting them down, they brought Vikk and Lazar to a secret lab where they were canonically killed multiple times. They were subsequently successfully revived with the Revival Book.[21] Punz and Dream performed tests for months, killing Vikk and Lazar in any way they could think of.[78] Following these experiments, Punz and Dream permanently killed Vikk and Lazar to keep the Revival Book's existence a secret.[21]
Disc Confrontation[]

The Disc Confrontation was an event staged by Punz and Dream to make the other server members believe that Punz betrayed Dream by getting him locked up in Pandora's Vault.[10] The day before the Disc Confrontation, Punz wanted to replace the Punzo Blade of Justice, which was destroyed by a wither blast during the Doomsday War. He found a sign Tommy left outside his base, asking him to check the seventh floor of his tower, where Tommy left a chest with gold, TNT, diamonds, and netherite ingots. In the room, Tommy left signs describing his distrust of Punz and asking if the payment was enough for his loyalty. Punz pretended to be torn on whether to help Tommy, musing to himself that the payment was more than Dream had ever given him. He also supposedly questioned himself as a mercenary, falsely wondering why he was so conflicted. Punz then returned to make a new sword.[79]

On the day of the conflict, while others lined up along the Prime Path to say their goodbyes to Tommy and Tubbo, Punz was nowhere to be found.[80] However, as Tommy and Tubbo wished each other goodbye in the vault, Punz came through the portal. He stated that Dream should have paid him more, and led other members of the server to Tommy and Tubbo's aid. In the end, Dream was killed twice and then sent to Pandora's Vault, just like he and Punz had planned. After the confrontation and Dream's imprisonment in Pandora's Vault, Tommy thanked Punz for coming to help.[81] Tommy later admitted to Tubbo in private that he had not thought Punz would actually come, to which Tubbo concurred, saying that he thought Punz hated them.[82]
Empowerment Arc[]
Eggpire party[]
After Tommy was killed by Dream in Pandora's Vault, BadBoyHalo, Antfrost, and Punz threw a party in Tommy's house to celebrate his death. Punz was pleased that Tommy was out of the way of the Egg and that they could finally move forward. They all went to Tommy's hotel after CaptainPuffy threw them out of Tommy's house. They rented a room from Sam Nook where they could continue their party. Puffy entered the hotel and got angry at the trio for having their party in Tommy's hotel, but she left soon after.[83]
Foolish arrived after Puffy left and was confused why they were all in his room. Sam Nook assured him that the room would be rented out for one night only. Foolish was disturbed that Bad, Ant, and Punz were happy that Tommy died, and gave them all a diamond block to keep them from bothering him. He left and the party went on for a while, until they decided to go tell the Egg about Tommy's death. After telling the Egg, they all went their separate ways to prepare for the Red Banquet.[84]
Quackity confrontation[]

When Quackity went to blow up the Egg, he was spotted by Bad and Punz. This forced Quackity to return to the secret hallways. Quackity started threatening to light the TNT. He continued placing TNT as he backtracked. Bad and Punz followed him into the hallway. Bad told Quackity that he could not get in the way of the Egg, as it got in the way of his mission; without the Egg, he had nothing.[85]
Bad commanded Punz to go after Quackity, and the two cornered him in the hallway. Quackity still threatened to light the TNT (with a redstone torch in hand and TNT in reach), and ordered Punz to leave him and Bad alone. Quackity told Bad they had to get rid of the Egg, but Bad replied that Quackity did not know what would be brought down upon him. Quackity thought for a second and then lit the TNT, destroying the area.[86]
Legacy Arc[]
Dream's escape[]
On the day of Dream's escape from Pandora's Vault, Punz met up with Sapnap, Eryn, Michaelmcchill, BoomerNA and several other SMP members. When Michael asked why Dream was in prison, Punz commented that he was in there because he did not pay Punz enough. Punz also explained to Boomer that he used to be close to Dream, but that he betrayed him as Tommy offered him more money. They were all gathered at McPuffy's when Awesamdude ran in and told them to go to the prison as Dream was escaping. While they were all waiting outside the prison, Dream, Technoblade, Ranboo, and Connor appeared outside while attempting to escape the prison. A fight broke out as most members tried to prevent Dream from escaping. Punz also engaged in this fight, but mainly used steak to hit Dream instead of using his axe. Dream ended up getting away, and Sapnap and Punz agreed to split up to look for him.[87]
Aftermath of the breakout[]
Punz re-equipping Dream
After going out on his own, Punz revealed that he was on Dream's side all along. He commented on how it took Dream so long to get out of prison and how that was not the plan at all. Punz made his way to the rendevous point where he had agreed to meet with Dream. Dream was relieved to see him and explained to Punz that the plan went south. Punz supplied Dream with netherite armor, weapons and food. The two parted ways with the promise to talk to each other soon and to meet up at Punz's tower in the future.[10]
Relaying a message[]
At some point, Punz found out that Purpled had captured Slimecicle, upon which Dream asked Punz to relay a message to Purpled. Punz visited Purpled in his cave and told him that they knew that Purpled could hurt Quackity in the worst way possible. Purpled was defensive and initially refused to listen to what Punz had to say. Punz then asked whether Purpled knew that Quackity had tortured Dream for six months in Pandora's Vault. Purpled wondered why Dream did not tell him this himself and did not believe that Dream was tortured, as he thought that nobody was ever allowed in the prison. Punz got angry and explained that Sam had allowed Quackity to come in every day to do unspeakable things to Dream, turning the prison into hell in a box. This made Purpled change his mind and he allowed Punz to elaborate on his offer.[88]

Punz told Purpled that he could train Slimecicle to hate Quackity and ultimately kill him. Since slimes' genetics could go through evolution, Purpled could turn Slime into his project and make him do whatever he wanted. Purpled asked why he would need Dream, Punz, and Slime involved in a plan to kill Quackity. Punz said it was more fun to have Quackity's best friend kill him and that Dream had even suggested that Purpled could keep Las Nevadas. Purpled questioned Punz's role in the plan, but Punz claimed that he was just paid to relay a message and asked what Purpled's answer to his offer was. Purpled ended up agreeing and teamed up with Dream to confront Quackity.[89]
True allegiance revealed[]
On November 11, 2022, Tubbo and Tommy went into Pandora's Vault to try to take Dream's final life. After a long battle, they ended up being successful and managed to kill Dream.[90] They left the prison and went over to Punz to ask him to join their future nation. After being told that Dream was dead, Punz was shocked that Tommy and Tubbo had managed to kill Dream alone. Tubbo said that Dream had seemed slower this time. Punz invited Tubbo and Tommy to follow him to something that he had prepared already which they could use for their nation.[91]
Punz reviving Dream
They went down a trap door and walked down a long stone brick staircase which transitioned into blackstone near the end. Tommy and Tubbo got nervous because this reminded them of the Final Control Room. Punz fell quiet and did not respond to Tommy and Tubbo's questions. Tommy broke two blackstone blocks and saw that there was TNT behind them. Punz took out the Revival Book and told them that Dream was not the only person who had access to it. Tommy was alarmed and asked him what happened to "not getting paid enough". Punz angrily responded that not everything was always about money, and that the Revival Book would give him unlimited power.[92]
Punz told Tommy that he would never be able to win. He ran all the way down the stairs where there was a room with lava. He revived Dream and set off the TNT that lined the staircase. Tubbo and Tommy ran over to the Power Tower near Tommy's house. Dream and Punz chased them there and went up the ladder of the tower.[93] Punz and Dream brought Tommy and Tubbo to half a heart, but Tubbo and Tommy begged to be spared. Punz and Dream agreed as long as Tommy and Tubbo followed them to Pandora's Vault.[94]

When they arrived in Pandora's Vault, Punz and Dream ordered Tommy and Tubbo to give up everything in their inventories and ender chests. Tommy kept asking why Punz was doing this, since he had saved Tubbo and Tommy, but Punz replied that he had never been on their side. Tubbo and Tommy were taken to an obsidian platform above lava, where Dream explained to them that it was time for questions and a monologue. Dream said he did not understand why Tommy had killed him after Dream had not bothered him for months. If it was not for Punz, then Dream would be dead and for all Tommy knew, death would then be permanent.[95]

Tommy asked Punz why he had betrayed them when they had trusted him. Punz replied that Tommy was simple minded and one-dimensional, and unable to see the bigger picture. Dream told them that he and Punz wanted to learn and understand everything in the world. They had been testing the Revival Book and wanted to know what life was. To learn about everything, they needed time and therefore had to be alive forever. But to achieve this, they needed each other to be alive. Punz said that they had everything planned for a long time already and that he had never betrayed Dream. At one point, the server had started to turn against Dream, which meant that both of them could die. However, if everyone thought that Punz had made Dream get locked up in prison, then nobody would think it would be necessary to kill both of them.[96]
Dream said that there was such a separation of knowledge and power between them and Tubbo and Tommy, that he and Punz might as well be gods. Tubbo and Tommy knew nothing while Punz and Dream were dealing with revival and life and death. Tommy begged them to stop, but Punz said there was no stopping this anymore. Dream mentioned LazarBeam and Vikkstar, and Punz said they had done some experimenting on them. They were killed in every way they could think of, because Punz and Dream had to know exactly how the Revival Book worked. Punz and Dream had also been to limbo themselves, with Punz's limbo being terrible.[97]
Nevertheless, by reviving dead people, Punz and Dream had caused an imbalance. This created corruption in their world. They had learned that there was another dimension, and the problems of the imbalance could be seen there as well. Punz said that people had to die to restore balance, otherwise the world could end. Since they expected people to fight against them when they started killing people, Punz and Dream decided they had to kill everyone who did not join them.[98]
They had brought Tommy and Tubbo to the prison because they had found out that limbo was different depending on how somebody died. Punz and Dream said that they wanted to see what would happen if somebody died in a selfless way, which they had not tested before. Dream told Tommy and Tubbo about the pressure plate in the lava, which one person could stand on to allow the other person to escape. Punz and Dream left the room to have lunch together, while Tubbo and Tommy had to decide who would die. However, Tommy had secretly hidden his two discs in his inventory. He used the discs to activate the pressure plate, causing both Tommy and Tubbo to escape.[99]
Final confrontation with Tommy[]
The day after, Tommy went to Pandora's Vault to keep Dream and Punz there together so that a nuke would kill them. He made his way to the maximum-security cell where Punz and Dream were. They did not understand why Tommy was there, and Tommy lied that he wanted to kill them both. Punz called Tommy an idiot, asking him what he was doing and that it must be a joke. Punz tried to leave the room because he was so confident that Tommy would fail, but Tommy attempted to make him stay by telling him how Dream had almost made him kill himself. However, Punz did not care about that and said that the world did not revolve around Tommy.[100]

Punz tried to leave the room again, but Tommy built up towards the exit to block it off. Tommy then questioned Dream on his point of view. Dream explained that he wanted to know everything and live forever. Punz told Tommy that they could not enjoy life while not knowing anything. Dream said that he and Punz had done plenty of evil things, which Punz pointed out that they did for good reasons. Dream agreed and said that in the grand scheme of things, these things did not matter when they could live forever.[101]
Tommy believed that Dream had always been the same person even before getting the Revival Book. He did not understand how Dream thought that death was nothing. Dream started attacking Tommy, saying that one moment Tommy could be alive, and the next he could be dead. As he killed Tommy, Dream congratulated Tommy on being dead, after which Punz laughed. Shortly after, Dream revived Tommy. Dream said that death was nothing with the Revival Book. Punz told Tommy that it was a never-ending cycle. Dream then explained how he believed the ends justified the means, and that suffering meant nothing when they could all be invincible and live forever.[102]
While Tommy was in limbo, he had seen a vision of Dream’s first day on the server. Tommy told Dream that he saw that Dream had been happy. Dream said he was happy now, and Punz added that Dream was always pretty happy. Tommy disagreed and replied that Dream had not had a bad thought in his mind in the past. Punz sarcastically asked if Tommy could read minds now and knew what Dream was thinking. Tommy explained that he realized that Dream just wanted things to be simple and be back with his friends. Punz interjected that he was Dream's friend and asked if Tommy thought he was not.[103]
Dream eventually asked Tommy why things could not be simple again and why everyone could not live forever and be friends. Tommy said that he was with Dream, and Dream wondered if it was not too late to stop his plan and work together. However, they then heard the siren of Tubbo's nuke getting closer. Dream yelled for Punz and said they had to get out of the room. Tommy said it was too late and that it was the whole prison, which Punz did not believe. The nuke landed on the prison and everyone inside died.[104]

The Revival Book is a book dropped into the world a millennium ago by DreamXD.[125] Dream obtained it from Jschlatt in exchange for his allegiance during the Manberg vs Pogtopia War.[126] Dream and Punz secretly tested the knowledge obtained from the book on Vikkstar and LazarBeam to understand if and how the revival mechanics worked.[21] Dream trusted Punz with the Revival Book so that they could revive each other if somebody killed one of them.[127][128] At some point, Punz and Dream killed each other and themselves multiple times to learn about what limbo was like. They subsequently revived each other after this.[22] After Dream lost his final life to Tommy and Tubbo, Punz used the Revival Book to bring Dream back to life.[129] However, Punz and Dream had also found out that the revival of the dead comes with a cost. It had created an imbalance which created corruption in the world. The only way this could be fixed was by killing people.[130] |

Their goals and mindset aligned when they decided that they wanted to understand everything that was unknown in the world.[163][6] They secretly tested the Revival Book together on Vikkstar and LazarBeam for months.[21] Punz and Dream killed themselves and each other multiple times to understand what limbo was like.[22] Since they wanted to live forever to learn everything, they realized they would both need to be alive so that one could revive the other if necessary.[164] A while later, Dream and Punz planned to stage the Disc Confrontation. This would make it seem as if Punz had betrayed Dream by getting him imprisoned, so that nobody would ever suspect they had to kill both Dream and Punz to permanently kill them.[165] The day before the Disc Confrontation, Tommy paid Punz to join his side.[79] Punz pretended to side with Tommy and led many server members to Dream's location, achieving the goal of getting Dream locked up in Pandora's Vault.[81] Everyone believed that Punz had betrayed Dream, and Punz kept up this lie in the months afterwards as well.[166] After Dream escaped from Pandora's Vault, Punz still pretended to be against him to the other server members. Punz eventually managed to slip away from the main search party and went to a pre-determined meeting place, where he met Dream. Punz was happy and relieved that Dream was finally out of prison, but was concerned for his well-being after being locked up for way longer than they had planned. Punz gave Dream a new set of netherite armor and other equipment, and they agreed to meet at Punz's tower soon.[10] Dream later told Punz the details of his imprisonment, explaining that Quackity had tortured him every day for six months. Sometime after, Punz went over to Purpled on Dream's behalf to get his assistance to kill Quackity. However, Punz got angry when Purpled initially did not believe that Quackity had tortured Dream. Punz was very sympathetic to Dream, stating to Purpled that torture went beyond anyone's limits and was not okay. He kept his alliance with Dream a secret, claiming that Dream had merely paid him to relay a message.[160] On November 11th, 2022, Tubbo and Tommy killed Dream.[90] When they told Punz about this, he was shocked that Tubbo and Tommy had managed to do so alone. Punz got more and more angry while leading Tommy and Tubbo down a staircase to a secret room that he had prepared. He yelled at Tommy that it had never been about the money for him, but then quickly added that he wanted power. Punz revived Dream and they chased Tommy and Tubbo together.[129] Punz and Dream took Tommy and Tubbo to Pandora's Vault, where they were put on an obsidian platform surrounded by lava. They tried to make Tubbo and Tommy understand what their motivations were and that Tubbo and Tommy barely knew anything compared to Punz and Dream. They told them that they wanted to test what would happen if somebody died selflessly, making Tubbo and Tommy choose who would die. However, when Punz and Dream went out of the room, both Tubbo and Tommy managed to escape the prison.[167] The day after, Tommy returned to the prison to keep Punz and Dream there together. This was in an attempt for Tubbo to fire a nuke on them. Punz helped Dream throughout the the encounter with Tommy, not caring when Tommy explained that Dream had almost driven him to suicide. Outside of Ranboo's enderwalk state, Punz's interactions with Ranboo were generally not positive. Ranboo and Fundy hired Punz as protection when they tried to take over Niki and Puffy's flower shop. When Punz realized they were lying about the shop being their ice cream shop, he did not want to be their protection anymore and returned their payment. Punz also accused Fundy of damaging the sign above Church Prime, and questioned Ranboo on whether he was working with Fundy.[179] Before the Doomsday War, Punz sided with L'Manberg in order to spy on them for Dream, while Ranboo did not want to pick sides. Punz called Ranboo indecisive for this, and said he was selfish for not wanting to help L'Manberg.[180] Ranboo in his enderwalk state and Punz were both present at the Disc Confrontation, but it is unclear if Ranboo knew about Punz and Dream's plan to stage the event.[181] |

Sapnap has a positive opinion of Punz and seems to trust him, not knowing that Punz's true allegiance lies with Dream. They tend to bicker constantly while around each other, but they rarely hold grudges. They fought alongside each other in both the Pet War and the Second Pet War.[182][48] Punz forgave Sapnap for burning down his house and accidentally killing his fox.[145][150] Punz helped Sapnap with the construction of builds such as Sapnap's secret base and the Eiffel Tower.[183][39] Though they had a good relationship, their factions were at odds; Punz was Dream's spy and second in command, while Sapnap became a member of El Rapids following his falling out with Dream and the Dream SMP. This put them into occasional conflict, with Punz being ready to fight Sapnap if Dream commanded it. They fought against each other during the Battle of the Lake and at Mexican L'Manberg after Punz betrayed the country.[8][175] During the Doomsday War, the two fought alongside each other on L'Manberg's side, although Punz was acting as Dream's spy.[72] At the Disc Confrontation, Punz led Sapnap and other server members to Dream's location, but Sapnap did not know that Punz and Dream had staged the event.[81] After Dream escaped from Pandora's Vault, Punz pretended to help Sapnap find Dream. Tommy and Punz have a negative relationship. Back during the Disc Saga, Punz was friendly to Tommy, giving him a blaze rod, and trying to help him break the obsidian after Dream trapped his bed.[185] However, they never had a positive relationship despite the small friendly gestures of Punz and were usually on opposing sides, such as during the Dream Team SMP vs. L'Manberg War and the Manberg vs Pogtopia War.[33][50] After Tommy burned down George's house, Punz supported Dream when he wanted to take action against Tommy.[58] Punz also told Dream he would keep an eye out for Tommy after Tommy escaped his exile.[186] Before the Doomsday War, Punz joined Tommy's side and vowed to help him defend L'Manberg, although Punz only did this to spy on them for Dream.[71] Tommy was surprised that Punz helped them as he was usually on Dream's side.[73] The day before the staged Disc Confrontation, Tommy paid Punz in the hopes that Punz would help him and Tubbo.[79] Like Punz and Dream had planned, Punz came to Tommy and Tubbo's aid during the confrontation, which Tommy was grateful for.[81] After Punz succumbed to the Egg's corruption, he came to dislike Tommy. He was pleased when Tommy was killed by Dream, as Tommy had been in the way of the Egg's objective.[187][188] During the Pandora's Vault jailbreak, Punz pretended to agree with Tommy that Dream should be kept in prison.[189] When Tubbo and Tommy had taken Dream's final life, they told Punz the news and asked him to join their future nation. Punz led them down a secret staircase which he claimed contained something that would be useful to them. However, he then told them that he never cared about the money and that Tommy would never win. He revived Dream with the Revival Book and the two went on to chase Tubbo and Tommy up the Power Tower.[129] Punz and Dream took Tommy and Tubbo to Pandora's Vault, after which Tommy kept asking Punz why he had betrayed him and Tubbo. Punz grew frustrated by the repeated questions and said that Tommy was an idiot who knew nothing.[190] Punz and Dream told Tommy and Tubbo that they wanted one of them to sacrifice himself for the other to escape, but Tommy and Tubbo both managed to escape the prison together.[191] Following their escape, Tommy was enraged that he had lost his discs in the process. He went over to Punz's house with TNT and blew it up. After this, Tommy wanted to act as bait to lure Punz and Dream together, upon which Tubbo would fire a nuke on the three of them.[192] Tommy came back to the prison the next day and told Punz and Dream he wanted to kill them. Punz laughed at Tommy and intended to leave the room because he saw Tommy as such a low threat. Tommy tried to keep Punz in the room by telling him that Dream had almost made Tommy kill himself. However, Punz did not care about this and said it was just a sob story. He called Tommy immature and selfish. In the end, Punz and everyone else in the prison died to the nuke fired by Tubbo.[168] |

During the earlier days of the SMP, Tubbo and Punz got along very well. Punz gifted bees to Tubbo, and at one point said that he would join conflicts for him as he was his friend.[27] Punz gave Tubbo materials in the Manberg Rebellion, even offering help.[193] However, they ended up on opposite sides of the Manberg vs Pogtopia War due to Punz's loyalty to Dream.[50] Later on, Punz helped protect Tubbo's pet fox from Sapnap in the Squeeks Conflict.[64] Punz was on L'Manberg's side during the Doomsday War, which Tubbo thought was strange as he had never seen Punz side against Dream before.[73] During the staged Disc Confrontation, Punz helped Tubbo and Tommy as he and Dream had planned.[81] Tubbo admitted that he thought Punz hated him and Tommy, and was surprised that Punz came to help them.[82] Tubbo later mentioned to Aimsey that Punz was a close friend of his.[194] Soon after Tommy and Tubbo had taken Dream's last life, Punz was surprised that they had managed to kill Dream. Punz led Tubbo and Tommy down a staircase where he revealed that it had never been about money for him. He then went on to revive Dream with the Revival Book and set off TNT that lined the staircase. Following this, Punz and Dream chased Tubbo and Tommy up the Power Tower.[129] Punz and Dream took Tubbo and Tommy to Pandora's Vault, where they told them about their motivations and plans. - He caused two of Wilbur's three canon deaths: he killed him in the Final Control Room and shot him during Tommy and Wilbur's escape from L'Manberg following Schlatt's election.
- Before Punz was leaving to save Tommy during the Disc Confrontation, he originally had the idea to say, "Sorry Dream, but money talks", before Awesamdude recommended the quote that was eventually used, "I'm sorry, Dream – but you should have paid me more."[218]
