Sam Bucket is a character on the Dream SMP who likes to annoy BadBoyHalo by asking him for buckets. When Sam Bucket doesn't get what he wants, he causes chaos and destruction and then blames it on Bad.
Physiology[]
Sam Bucket, similarly to Sam Nook and Awesamdude, appears to be an anthropomorphic creeper with gold armor all over his body.
Personality[]
Sam Bucket does not speak English. Instead, he speaks his own language, which consists of him saying his own name over and over again. Sam Bucket also has different tones for every time he speaks his own name to show the emotion he is feeling. Sam Bucket likes buckets, and every second he spends not getting one, he will attempt to cause chaos and destruction. Whenever things are in buckets, he will kill the things that are in the buckets, as shown when he let a fish die, much to BadBoyHalo's chagrin.[1]
Sam Bucket has a blind loyalty to the Egg. Following Sam Bucket's discovery of the egg, Sam Bucket began talking to it and developed a connection to it. The Egg offered what Sam Bucket wanted, so Sam listened to the Egg, followed its instructions, and attempted to spread its influence to his friends. Despite the objections of some of friends, Sam Bucket was eager to keep listening to the Egg and keep spreading its influence, leading to him to doing "things he's not proud of."[2]
History[]
Discovering the Egg[]
At some point in time, Sam Bucket began hearing voices and found blood vines while mining in a ravine. After mining some more, Sam Bucket discovered the source of the voices, the Egg. After studying the egg for some time and listening to the voices, he discovered that the Egg was trying to communicate with him. As Sam Bucket listened to the egg, he began to develop a connection to it since it promised to give him whatever he wanted. Sam wanted to share the discovery of the Egg with his friends, but after sharing, only some of his friends approved of the egg while others were concerned and tried to stop the Egg's growth. Eventually, Sam became frustrated with his friends that wanted to stop the egg, leading him to doing "things he's not proud of."[2]
Meeting BadBoyHalo[]
Sam Bucket met BadBoyHalo as Bad walked down the Prime Path on March 27, 2022. Bad initially mistook Sam Bucket as Sam, but Sam Bucket loudly shouted "SAM BUCKET!!!," making Bad realize it was not Sam. Sam Bucket began following Bad, shouting "Sam Bucket" over and over again. Bad attempted to give Sam Bucket a bucket to see if it would quiet Sam Bucket down, but he continued to demand for buckets. In an attempt to employ Sam Bucket to help build a fruit basked for Foolish Gamers, Bad led Sam Bucket to Foolish's summer home.[3]
After arriving at Foolish's Summer home, Sam Bucket froze. After Bad asked Sam Bucket if he was alright, Sam Bucket responded "Lag Bucket" before moving again. Bad then led Sam Bucket towards Foolish's chests and began building a bucket out of polished andesite. However, Sam began constructing a tower of TNT and threatened to ignite it. Fearing of a conflict, Bad lured Sam Bucket away while holding a water bucket. After luring Sam Bucket away from the TNT, Bad claimed that one of Foolish's cats was holding a bucket in an attempt to distract Sam Bucket. Sam Bucket started walking towards the cat with an axe in hand, and Bad, realizing his mistake, distracted Sam Bucket with the water bucket again. Sam Bucket then demanded for the water bucket, and Bad gave in, dropping the bucket for Sam Bucket. Sam Bucket was satisfied, and Bad continued building.[4]
Shortly after Bad continued the build, Sam Bucket started placing levers on the TNT again and demanded for another bucket. After some more banter, Bad led Sam Bucket towards Foolish's chests with a bucket of tropical fish. Bad looked through Foolish's chests to find another bucket and eventually found a water bucket, which he emptied and threw on the floor for Sam Bucket. With Sam Bucket distracted, Bad attempted to destroy the TNT Sam Bucket had placed. However, Sam reappeared seconds later demanding more buckets, much to Bad's surprise. After Sam Bucket demanded multiple times for Bad's bucket with the fish, Bad conceded and handed it over. Unhappy with the fish, Sam released it and let it die, much to Bad's disappointment. After a moment of shock, Bad continued building the bucket for Foolish. Sam Bucket then towered up with TNT before leaving the server.[5]
With Sam Bucket gone, Bad continued the fruit basket build and started removing the polished andesite. Sam Nook also appeared and attempted to help Bad. However, after accidentally damaging Foolish's Path, Sam Nook logged off. Sam Bucket returned shortly after and expressed disappointment at Bad for replacing the bucket build with a basket. Sam Bucket exploded the basked in retaliation, and Bad returned to building a bucket. Bad, wishing to finish the build in peace, came up with the idea for Sam Bucket to look for buckets in Foolish's two-headed snake. After freezing outside the statue, Sam returned to annoying Bad for more buckets. [6]
Getting annoyed and nervous, Bad decided to lead Sam Bucket towards Pandora's Vault. After reaching the outside of the prison, Bad lured Sam Bucket onto an obsidian platform in the water with buckets and trapped Sam Bucket in an obsidian cage. With Sam Bucket trapped, Bad traveled back to Foolish's Summer Home to continue the build. However, upon arriving at the home, Sam Bucket reappeared. Bad, confused, traveled back towards the prison with Sam Bucket following. Upon arriving at the site of the cage, Bad noticed that the obsidian was gone. Sam Bucket returned the obsidian, and Bad repeated the process again, luring Sam Bucket and trapping them with a thicker obsidian cage.[7]
Curious about Sam Bucket's ability to escape, Bad pretended to leave and watched the cage from the nearby beach. After feeling safe, Bad started leaving for Foolish's Summer Home. However, Bad started feeling bad and crafted more buckets to give before leaving. While Bad crafted more buckets, Sam Bucket suddenly reappeared in front of Bad. Bad turned around to see the obsidian cage gone and gave up on trying to trap them. In an attempt to lose Sam Bucket, Bad led Sam Bucket to a cave, dropped a bucket, and fled towards Foolish's Summer Home. However, upon crossing the portal to Foolish's Summer Home again, Bad found Sam Bucket again. Bad then dropped another bucket and fled towards the Snowchester mansion. Upon arriving at the mansion, Bad found Sam Bucket walking through the entrance. Bad then fled with Sam Bucket following again. After Bad stopped at an infinite water source to wait for Sam Bucket, Sam Bucket began filling buckets of water in their inventory with water. Seeing that Sam Bucket was occupied with filling the buckets with water, Bad filled a bucket with water and gave it to Sam Bucket. After filling more buckets with water, Sam Bucket walked away from Bad. Bad, relieved that Sam Bucket was gone, returned to Foolish's Summer Home to continue building the bucket.[8]
While Bad continued the build, awesamdude met Bad and questioned the build. Bad changed the build and started explaining his experience with Sam Bucket, but Sam dismissed the story and didn't believe that Sam Bucket is real. Bad attempted to give Sam the bucket that Sam Bucket dropped, but Sam stated that there was nothing special about the bucket and there is nothing to prove that Sam Bucket gave it to Bad. Eventually, Bad finished the fruit basket build without Sam Bucket appearing.[9]
Who is Sam Bucket?[]
Sam Bucket made a reappearance on March 29, 2022 after Bad had another conversation with awesamdude about Sam Bucket. Bad found Sam Bucket at Foolish's summer home looking through Foolish's chests, and hoping to get proof or more information, Bad approached Sam Bucket. After some conversing, Sam Bucket asked Bad for another filled water bucket. Bad asked Sam Bucket to follow him to visit Sam in return for the water bucket, but Sam bucket refused. Bad eventually gave in and dropped the water bucket, and satisfied, Sam Bucket started leaving. Still wanting to gather evidence of Sam Bucket's existence, Bad decided to tail Sam Bucket. Bad eventually followed Sam bucket to an ominous path with warning signs located in the forest near the road to Las Nevadas that lead to an area with a water fountain, gravestones (two of which had Bad and Foolish's names), and bones. There, Bad witnessed Sam Bucket placing buckets on the graves. While attempting to get a better view, Bad fell from a tree and gained the attention of Sam Bucket. Bad fled the scene, hoping to escape Sam Bucket. Eventually, Bad made it to his and Skeppy's mansion and hid. However, after turning around from peeking out the window, Bad found Sam Bucket behind him and blacked out.[10]
After waking up, Bad met with Awesamdude to try to prove Sam Bucket's existence. Bad led Sam to Sam Bucket's area, but only the fountain was found. Sam continued to deny the existence of Sam bucket and accused Bad of building a random fountain. Sam questioned Bad's mental state, led him away from the area, and started trying to get Sam Bucket out of Bad's mind. Bad eventually started forgetting about Sam Bucket, and Sam reaffirmed that Sam Bucket is not real.[11]
Sam meets Sam Bucket[]
Concerned about Bad's mental health, Sam went to the Egg's room to check if it was trying to possess Bad again on April 20, 2022. When he arrived, he found that the vines had regrown completely. After exploring more of the room, Sam found a dark tunnel. Sam began investigating the tunnel, and while doing so, he found many messages drawn on the wall, such as "Never Go Anywhere Without Your Bucket" and "Always Bring Your Bucket", as well as chests with journal entries that explained Sam Bucket's discovery of the Egg. However, since the journals were written in first person and were unsigned, Sam assumed that Bad had mined the tunnels and that he wrote the books.[12]
Continuing down the tunnels, Sam discovered a room with gravestones, similar to the one Bad found in the forest previously except underground. Like the one Bad found in the forest, all of the stones had buckets with two of them having signs for Bad and Foolish. However, unlike Bad's, there was no water fountain. In the room, Sam found three more books written by Sam Bucket. One book explained that the Egg promised them things in return for help with growing. The second book explained Sam Bucket's experience with sharing the Egg to their friends, and the third book explained that the Egg's influence spread with the help of Sam Bucket's tunnels.[13]
Sam, still believing that Bad had written the books and mined the tunnels while he was under the influence of the Egg, continued down the tunnel and found a small wooden house that he entered. There, Sam found four more journals in a chest. The books detailed the growth of the vines on the surface and Sam Bucket's friends' responses. Sam Bucket's entries detailed a story similar to BadBoyHalo's - some of Sam Bucket's friends wanted to destroy the vines and stopped the spread, so he recruited friends that were supportive of the egg to stop the others. Sam Bucket, desperate to keep spreading the influence, did "things he's not proud of" and managed to "take care of the troublemakers" in the end.[14]
Sam, panicked, began making his way out. However, he spotted a blood vine outside the house and decided to investigate. Sam found a dark tunnel behind the vine, and after gaining sight of the end, he saw a blood vine-ridden tunnel with a bright red portal at the end. Sam Bucket was momentarily seen, but disappeared. Regardless, Sam decided to get closer and investigate the portal. After rereading one of journals, Sam heard Sam Bucket call out "SAM BUCKET," Sam turned around, and saw Sam Bucket, who began chasing him. Sam eventually found an exit that lead him near Bad and Skeppy's mansion and lost Sam Bucket.[15]
After surfacing, Sam ran to Bad, who was on the Prime Path. Bad expressed confusion and claimed that Sam was behind him a few seconds ago. Sam told Bad that Sam Bucket is real and explained his experience in the tunnel, but Bad remained confused and denied Sam Bucket's existence. Sam then showed the trapdoor and the books to prove Sam Bucket's existence, and Bad questioned the fact that he never noticed a trapdoor that was so close to his home. Bad wanted to explore the tunnel and figure out more about Sam Bucket, but Sam stopped him and said that they needed to go in prepared to remove the Egg.[16]
Sam Bucket finale[]
In order to prepare, Bad and Sam wanted to invite other members to explore Sam Bucket's egg area with them. Failing to convince other members such as Foolish to help them explore the area, Bad and Sam were forced to explore the area without any help weeks later on September 9, 2022. Upon entering the Egg's room, they noticed that the Egg was gone. Shocked, Sam left Bad to go look for people. Sam Bucket then appeared behind Bad in the egg room. Sam Bucket chased Bad into a room that presumably used to be a farm for animals. Sam Bucket appeared in that room as well, and Bad was the chased into the area that contained Sam Bucket's house. Right outside Sam Bucket's house was the room that contained an Egg, which Bad later said was the original egg, regrown in a new spot.[17] Bad ran into Sam Bucket's house. Sam Bucket seemingly disappeared, and Bad read through Sam Bucket's diary entries. Reading the entries, Bad learned more about the history of Sam Bucket and the Egg. Sometime before Bad discovered the Egg, Sam Bucket discovered the Egg and became fond of it since it promised to bring back Sam Bucket's pet dog, Francis. However, after some time, Sam Bucket began realizing that the Egg was lying and began resisting it. Sam Bucket discovered that iron provided some level of resistance to the Egg's control and began wearing a bucket on his head. In an attempt to contain the Egg's influence, Sam Bucket buried the egg into what became known as the Egg room.[18]
Sam Bucket then approached bad, and Bad realized that Sam Bucket was an ally trying to warn them of the Egg the whole time. Sam Bucket then provided Bad with a bucket and iron blocks to permanently seal the egg. The two then began blocking off the entrances to the Egg's new room. While blocking the last entrance, Sam Bucket separated from Bad and walled himself in with the Egg, leading Bad to assume that Sam Bucket had sacrificed himself. Bad left the area and payed respects to Sam Bucket, surfacing at the entrance near his mansion. Sam Bucket himself then appeared behind Bad, showing that he didn't die.[19]

According to Sam Bucket's journal entries, him and the Egg have a very positive relationship. Sam Bucket first heard the egg while mining in a cave. After finding the Egg and listening to its voice, he began to love it and wanted to convince friends to love it too. Some of Sam's friends disapproved of it, leading Sam to help spread the vines by digging tunnels to spread its influence and convince his friends to love it. After some of his friends tried to stop the spread of the vines, Sam "took care" of them by doing "things he's not proud of."[2]
