The Unity Era was the first era of the Dream SMP. In the beginning, the server was referred to as the survival world, and the members at the time only included the Dream Team and a few close friends. Everyone lived close to each other, and the Community House was the heart of the server.

April 24, 2020[]
- Dream creates the SMP with GeorgeNotFound (George) on April 24, 2020.[2]
- The pair join the server for the first time and gather basic survival resources.
- Dream and George find a lava pool, and Dream teaches George how to build a nether portal quickly. Before going to the nether, BadBoyHalo (Bad) joins the VC.
- When the duo enters the nether portal, they spawn in the sky above a lava pool, so they bridge across to the mainland.
- Dream and George find a bastion and begin to explore it. However, when looting a chest, Dream is killed by a piglin, and George dies shortly after by a magma cube.
- They re-enter the nether, but Dream dies again. Then, when digging down in the overworld, he falls into a ravine and nearly dies. They both begin gathering resources in the ravine. After leaving the ravine, he dies again.
- George hits Dream, causing the dogs that George tamed to be aggro'd on Dream. Dream then kills both the dogs, much to George's dismay.
- After gathering more resources, they head back to the bastion, however George dies to fall damage when entering. George returns and finds netherite, but then dies again. George returns then dies again, before they both continue looting the bastion.
- Dream dies whilst trying to bridge, dropping the netherite, and then dies again whilst re-entering the bastion. Dream tries to get the netherite, but falls into lava and quits the game.
- Later on, George goes exploring whilst Dream is online and Bad is in their VC. George catches a fish, and then returns home and shows the foundations of their first base, which they had built off-stream.
- George names the fish he caught Beckerson, and puts the fish in a small hole of water in their farm.
- Dream finishes the animal pens and George breeds some sheep. They then move their chests into the base whilst talking about how they all had met each other.
- Callahan joins the server and Sapnap joins shortly after. They all begin working on the base, and Sapnap builds an iron golem, despite the other members seeing it as a waste.
April 28, 2020[]
- Awesamdude (Sam) and ItsAlyssa (Alyssa) join the server for the first time.[3] They both get some food.
- Sapnap removes a structure built by Callahan near their base.
- George gets the Bad Omen effect, and goes to a village with Dream to fight a pillager raid. Sapnap also follows behind them, although the two don't notice him initially. All three complete the raid and return home.
- Dream kills Alyssa's first dog, which causes Sapnap to nearly kill Beckerson. Dream apologizes and Sapnap lets the fish live, however after Alyssa threatened to kill it, Sapnap picked up the fish in a bucket. Sapnap puts the fish back later.
- Sam tries returning to the base after a mining trip in a ravine, but gets surrounded by monsters. George then rescues him.
- George and Sam brings two cows back to the base. Whilst they were doing this, Dream drowns trying to mine some diamonds, losing all of his items. However, Sam accidentally kills one of the cows. They then go to get three pigs and one cow, however Sapnap accidentally kills a pig, and finally gets the pigs and the cow in their pens.
- George and Sapnap have a duel, and Sapnap wins. Dream then donates $20 to George's stream.
- They all begin fishing in the lake.
April 29, 2020[]
- Whilst Dream was working around the base, a creeper in the animal farm blew up, causing all the animals to escape. They fix the animal farm, although most of the animals died in the process.
- The group begins working on a fish tank for Beckerson on top of their base. Dream complains that the original design for the fish tank was bad, and they begin making a new design.
- George and Sapnap begin attacking each other. Dream breaks up the fight by threatening to kill a dog if they don't stop.
- Dream begins complaining about the new design for the house and the fish tank. They then make a few modifications to make it look better, and then fill up the fish tank with water and put the fish in there.
May 1, 2020[]
- Dream and George go to the nether, but George pushes Dream into the lava, killing him. Dream tries killing George multiple times, but fails, and loses his bed at the base.
- George tells Dream to go to the nether to get his stuff, but then George blows up the portal. Whilst trying to rebuild the portal, a ghast fireball pushes him off the edge. Dream then dies after falling to his death, and most of his stuff either burn or despawn.
- George begins killing Dream when he gets close to the base so that he can't set his spawn.
- After Dream finally sets his spawn, he asks George for love and care. However, George refuses to give him this, causing Dream to move around the base with his head to the ground as if he was sad. After taking some of his frustration out on the dogs, he goes to work in a basement.
- George takes off the goggles and laughs at his skin. When showing Dream, he remarks that George looks ugly.
May 2, 2020[]
- George goes exploring and tries to go deep water fishing.
- He heads back to the Community House, and chats with Dream for a while. He then heals the iron golem and fixes up the staircase up to the aquarium.
- Dream and George also play hide and seek both in the overworld and the nether.
May 4, 2020[]
- George starts off by farming some wheat at the base. George then makes a compass, but he realizes that the compass points to spawn and not to his bed.
- Sapnap and George go on a mining expedition through multiple different caves.
- They eventually find the ocean where they originally found Beckerson. They gather some coral to decorate the fish tank.
- Sapnap gets a pufferfish, but George worries that the pufferfish will expand and hurt Beckerson in the process, and asks for Sapnap to drop the pufferfish, but Sapnap refuses.
- Sapnap finds an area with lots of fish, and he takes some fish.
- George finally finds a ravine, and they both explore it. Whilst mining for resources, Dream joins the VC.
- Before returning home, they get more fish.
- When they return home, they find that Dream decorated the area around the portal. Sapnap also messages George, asking if they could kill Dream, but George just says that it would be mean.
- George and Sapnap place their new fish, including Oreo, Randy, and Mars. George calls the latter a loner due to it not wanting to hang out with the other fish.
- George plans to use Dream's basement as an enchantment room, but Dream insists that they build the enchantment room in the nether.
- Sapnap begins complaining about Dream building the nether hub, so he pushes Sapnap into lava. Dream adds that he knew that Sapnap had been messaging George about killing Dream, and adds that he could kill both Sapnap and George, steal all of their stuff, and leave.
- As a response, Sapnap threatens to burn the house down, and Dream says that he hopes Sapnap dies in the lava.
- George then sees the nether hub for the first time and compliments him for it. Dream and Sapnap continue arguing about the necessity of the nether hub. George and Dream then save Sapnap from dying.
May 5, 2020[]
- Dream admits that their base looks bad due to the group not being the best builders. He also finds that Sapnap got three foxes, including Skechers and Max.
- Dream begins to explore the server, and hopes to get bamboo from a jungle and get dark oak wood.
- During his adventure, Dream tames a horse and begins telling a story about his time at school whilst adventuring.
- After accidentally falling into a ravine with his horse, he decides to kill the original horse and tames another one, then continues exploring.
- Dream tames his first parrot, but the parrot later dies whilst traveling through an ice spikes biome due to suffocation. Dream creates a grave for the parrot and mourns it.[4]
- Dream returns home and tries to put the horse in the base, but since the horse wouldn't fit in, he takes the horse into Alyssa's house.
- When George gets online, he sees what Dream had gotten during his journey, including his horse, which is referred to as the "family horse".
- Alyssa and Callahan see the nether hub for the first time, and George begins building the enchantment room in the nether hub.
- George makes diamond tools and armor, and finds another bastion whilst mining for quartz for experience. After looting the bastion, he enchants his armor and tools.
- When George returns, he sees that Dream and Alyssa have built a fence around their lake and built a blackstone staircase to the nether portal.
- George hides some items in a secret chest because he couldn't trust Sapnap, and then goes mining for diamonds. However, Alyssa accidentally breaks the fish tank and some of the fish escape, so George rushes back. Dream manages to save all of the fish.
- George accidentally breaks the nether portal, and Dream then goes to the nether and creates a new nether portal. George breaks the new nether portal, and then Dream leaves George in the nether until he says that he loves Dream. George refuses, and Dream and Alyssa lets George leave anyways.
- Dream begins annoying George, so he kills Dream. Dream and George then begin fighting, and Dream eventually says that George is banished, but he doesn't listen. Dream then tries setting George on fire with lava, and nearly sets the base on fire.
- Dream complains about how he and Alyssa were being productive for the team, whereas George was being selfish by making enchanted diamond gear. Dream then kicks George.
May 6, 2020[]
- George steals some of Dream's things and then goes to the nether to get levels for enchanting his sword.
- Dream accidentally lets a creeper blow up in their base and finds that Skechers managed to get into the fish tank.
- George and Dream make a tree farm behind the nether portal.
- George finds that Max had got into the chicken pen and killed all of the chickens.
- Dream tries killing their iron golem, but George refuses to let Dream kill it. Dream then decides to banish the iron golem to the outside of the lake.
- Sapnap learns that Max had killed all of the chickens, and Sapnap grounds Max.
May 8, 2020[]
- Ponk joins the server for the first time.[5]
- Dream takes some of Sapnap's diamonds in order to pay Alyssa to make the tree farm look nicer.
- Sapnap takes George's enchanted pickaxe, and he threatens to kill Sapnap. Sapnap later says that the pick broke.
- Dream builds the pet house with help from Alyssa.
- Ponk begins trolling George by giving him useless stuff.
- Ponk makes a chicken farm outside of the lake, and Dream lures Max into the chicken farm. Ponk then kills the fox. They do a moment of silence for Max, but George refuses to participate in the moment.
- Dream and Sapnap gang up on George, and George logs out before he dies.
- Dream begins strip mining for diamonds.
- George drops his pickaxe and Sapnap steals it. When George kills Sapnap, he threatens to kill Beckerson. George then steals Dream's diamonds and begins attacking Sapnap after he had shot George. Dream then kicks George and Sapnap to stop them from fighting.
- George and Sapnap show Dream their mine area, and then Ponk shows the group his lemon tree. Sapnap gives Dream and flint and steel, and then he sets the tree on fire. Dream then gives Sapnap the flint and steel, and accuses him of burning down the tree.
- Alyssa shows Dream her house, and he is surprised by it, saying that it made their house look bad in comparison.
- The storytime stream occurs. During this stream, Sapnap accidentally kills the family horse, which Dream had named Spirit.
- Sapnap made a memorial for Spirit, but had accidentally used the leather dropped by Spirit in order to make an item frame. Sapnap frames the other leather he had got for the item frame and names it Spirit anyways.
May 10, 2020[]
- Bad officially joins the server.[6]
- George finds Sapnap's house and Spirit's memorial.
- George gives Bad a tour of the server.
- Dream and Sapnap gang up on George, kill him and burn his stuff, and Sapnap kills Bad afterward. Dream says that this was because George was constantly bullying everyone.
- Sapnap gives George his enchanted diamond pickaxe and axe. Dream also gives George a stack of diamonds, but George had to help the community in return rather than be selfish.
- Bad and George gang up on and successfully kill Sapnap. Dream then kills both George and Bad, and Sapnap steals Mr. Squeegie.
- Sapnap kills Mr. Squeegie, causing Bad to kill Sapnap in rage. Bad then leaves the server. Dream rolls the server back in order to restore Mr. Squeegie.
- Dream decorates their base, with a brief fishing trip before going back to decorating.
May 11, 2020[]
- Dream tricks George into falling to his death.
- Sapnap shows George the community to-do list, for George's punishment after accepting the stack of diamonds.
- Dream and George go on a fishing trip. They find Ponk building a large snow structure.
- When they return home, Sapnap shows the pair the start of the gladiator arena. Dream states that he would prefer a large colosseum, and they begin turning the arena into the Courthouse.
- They test the execution cell on Callahan by putting him 'on trial' for being a simp.
- George pushes Callahan into the execution cell and kills him. Dream, Sapnap, Callahan, and Ponk put him on trial for killing Callahan.
- Dream, Sapnap, and Callahan vote guilty, but Ponk votes not guilty. Sapnap flicks Ponk's lever and kills George anyways.
May 14, 2020[]
- Dream, George, Sapnap, and Ponk go to a coral reef to gather coral so they could decorate the lake.[7]
- George keeps ignoring Dream, so Dream starts his own stream.
- Dream returns home, and he and Sapnap show the finished Courthouse.
- George finally returns home from the coral reef after being ditched by Dream.
- George and Ponk try trapping Dream, but Sapnap finds out and breaks their trap, and also tells Dream about the trap.
- George moves Sapnap's pet Joffrey out of the lake. Sapnap gets angry at George stealing his horse and tries to kill him. Sapnap accidentally kills his horse and George shortly after.
- Dream, George, Bad, and Callahan put Sapnap on trial. Sapnap explains that George stole Joffrey and ran away. George initially argues that the horse might not have even been Sapnap's, but eventually admits that it was indeed his horse. George says that it doesn't matter anyway.
- Sapnap is moved into the execution cell and is judged. Callahan, George, Bad and Dream all vote guilty. Sapnap tries escaping, but Bad shoots him.
- Sapnap puts George on trial. George states that he doesn't believe that stealing Sapnap's horse was a crime, but Sapnap disagreed.
- Sapnap keeps being problematic, so Dream and Bad threatens to ban Sapnap for a night if he didn't stop being a nuisance.
- Bad accuses Sapnap of being neglectful towards horses. Sapnap denies this, but Bad reminds Sapnap of the incident with Spirit. Sapnap defends himself by saying that it was a freak accident, but Bad suggests that it might have been freak neglect.
- George is moved into the execution cell and is judged. Sapnap, Dream, and Callahan vote guilty, but Bad votes not guilty. Callahan then flicks Bad's lever anyways, killing George.
- Dream puts Callahan into the execution cells and flicks all of the levers, killing him, due to Callahan's crime being witnessed by everyone.
May 16, 2020[]
- Dream begins building what would eventually become the Prime Path. George, Bad, Callahan, and Ponk also join him.
- Ponk keeps annoying the group by pulling George and Dream with a fishing rod. Ponk also grows a tree in Dream's basement to annoy him.
May 23, 2020[]
- George does some work around the base. Dream begins annoying George, so he chases Dream down trying to kill him.
- George finds the watch tower, which was made by Sapnap after he saw it on the to-do list.
- George finally kills Dream, but then he kills George shortly after.
- George begins to make his base underground. The base can be accessed via a water elevator underneath the nether portal or through a secret passageway in the lake.
June 20, 2020[]
- Dream kills a baby zombie called "george suks" due to it no longer riding a chicken. Dream believes that a fox killed the chicken that the baby zombie was riding.
- Dream moves Fran to the dog house.
- Ponk bets Dream $15 that he couldn't do an MLG water. He successfully hits it and Ponk gives Dream $15.
June 29, 2020[]
- Ponk shows Sapnap his first giant lemon tree. Sapnap pushes Ponk off the tree. He then shows Sapnap his underground house.
- Ponk tells Sapnap to put glowstone into a respawn anchor. Sapnap accidentally blows up the area.
- Sapnap begins building the Hall of Fame.
June 30, 2020[]
- George logs in to find that his house had been griefed. Ponk then makes George fall and die. [8]
- George goes to burn Ponk's small lemon tree.
- George then finds Ponk's larger lemon tree and kills most of the chickens inside of it, leaving only one remaining. George then burns down the tree.
- Ponk tries to save some of the tree, but fails. He then goes to kill George, but he successfully kills Ponk.
- Sapnap demands that George is put on trial, but he disregards the message. Sapnap then goes to kill George, and he tries pearling away but dies due to the pearl.
- Ponk fills Dream's basement with chickens and tries to kill George again. Sapnap then kills Ponk.
- Ponk then lures George into a trap and successfully kills him. Dream then tells Sapnap that George has a Sharpness IV sword, and Sapnap kills George. He then tries and fails to kill Sapnap multiple times.
- Sapnap states that he burnt the sword in the Courthouse, but then tells George that he didn't. Sapnap then gives George the sword after he kissed Sapnap. Ponk tries stealing the sword, but George kills him.
- Sapnap tries to nudge George off a crafting table in their house, unwittingly creating the infamous "crafting table" meme.
July 1, 2020[]
- Sapnap joins and finds some items on the floor, and puts them in a chest.
- Sapnap goes to the to-do list to see what he could do. He doesn't like any of the ideas on the list, so he instead gives his stream a tour of the world.
July 4, 2020[]
- George joins the world and finds that his house was pranked. He removes the prank.
- George finds that Ponk had built a second lemon tree further up the path. George tries shooting him off and then begins looking for flint to burn the tree down.
- George tries to burn the tree down, but Ponk covers the tree in water. George pushes Ponk off the tree. However, he manages to successfully kill George.
- TommyInnit (Tommy) joins the server shortly after, leading up to the Growth Era.
