The unnamed Samsung Smart Refrigerator was a refrigerator in Philza's old house (not a location on the Dream SMP), and is often mistaken as Kristin, Philza's real life spouse. The canonicity of the refrigerator is widely debated, which makes the Samsung Smart Refrigerator the most convoluted background character on the DSMP.
History[]
The concept of the character was formed by an out-of-character Wilbur's seemingly spontaneous claim both prior and on Phil's November 30, 2020 Stream Part 2[1]. Phil had stated prior that Will tends to talk to him about some cursed things. He did not elaborate until Wilbur, using text-to-speech, claimed that his SMP character's mother was a Samsung Smart Refrigerator due to Phil getting "down and dirty" with one sometime in the early 1970s.
Wilbur has expressed that this is officially canon, though members of the fandom, including Philza himself in his stream on December 1, 2021, have chosen to ignore the claim, as the implications of this being an important piece of lore with such an unusual depiction of a maternal figure.
Due to Wilbur claiming it is his mother and not saying anything else, the fridge currently has ties only to Phil, Wilbur himself, and Fundy. Of course, this was later stated to be untrue as of Phil's stream on December 2, 2021.
On Phil's December 2, 2020 stream, Phil stated that the fridge is now in a dump[2], cementing the tragic demise of our beloved fridge. On Phil's August 4, 2023 stream, he stated the reason why the fridge was dumped is because one of its mechanisms stopped working & Phil couldn’t afford replacing it[3] He stated it had gone to "that Great Dumpster in the Sky."

Trivia[]
- While Wilbur made the decision to say that this is canon and there is no shapeshifting involved, many fans and fan artists have interpreted this as Wilbur's mother being an ice queen.
- In continuation to the previous trivia, some fans have also interpreted that Wilbur saw Philza's fridge with a picture of Mumza on it, asked who that was and, due to being a child, understood his father's answer as the fridge being his mother. This has later proven to be true by Philza on December 1, 2021.
- A 3rd Fan theory suggests that, like Kristin possessed Phil's body when they reached their subgoal, Kristin once before tried to take form from Phil but instead took over the Samsung Smart Fridge's form.
- Originally, Phil, realizing the implications of Wilbur's statement, said it was a story he had told Tommy and Wilbur. Afterward, as more donations poured in questioning Phil's sanity in having children with a time-traveling fridge, Phil gave up and said it was because of the many buttons on the fridge.
- The picture exemplifying the Samsung Smart Refrigerator is that of the Side-by-Side model of the Samsung Smart Refrigerator series.
- On the Samsung Family Hub webpage, it is stated that “Family Hub™ has won a CES Best of Innovation award for five straight years.
